hi all,
I tried to open my Tunze 6105 but can't, and the instruction booklet says to just pull it open.
Can someone enlighten me on how to open tunze 6105, i mean how to dismantle the pump?
Is there something i must do to open it?? i mean to say like maybe i need to press down on some place to release the catch to open?

bro thairun thanks for your wonderful frags... haha was rushing off to work so didn't get to chat with such a nice reefer..

pmed you!~

Although almost no aquarist knows this (athough every marine biologist does), algae produces all the vitamins and amino acids in the ocean that corals need to grow. Yes these are the same vitamins and amino acids that reefers buy and dose to their tanks. How do you think the vitamins and amino acids got in the ocean in the first place? Algae also produces a carbon source to feed the nitrate-and-phosphate-reducing bacteria (in addition to the algae consuming nitrate and phosphate itself). Yes this is the same carbon that many aquarists buy and add to their tanks. In particular, algae produce:
Vitamins:
Vitamin A
Vitamin E
Vitamin B6
Beta Carotene
Riboflavin
Thiamine
Biotin
Ascorbate (breaks chloramines into chlorine+ammonia)
N5-Methyltetrahydrofolate
Other tetrahydrofolate polyglutamates
Oxidized folate monoglutamates
Nicotinate
Pantothenate
Amino Acids:
Alanine
Aspartic acid
Leucine
Valine
Tyrosine
Phenylalanine
Methionine
Aspartate
Glutamate
Serine
Proline
Carbohydrates (sugars):
Galactose
Glucose
Maltose
Xylose
Misc:
Glycolic Acid
Citric Acid (breaks chloramines into chlorine+ammonia)
Nucleic Acid derivatives
Polypeptides
Proteins
Enzymes
Lipids

hi, i've got a question. Do you mean a single algae specie can produce that many kinds of vitamins, carbo, amino acid etc? Or do you need a mixture of algae specie to achieve that?

may i know what did you use to do the programing?? C++?

I do not agree. Given time, it will follow the frequency of feeding time of your tank. It can and will open when there is light. Speaking from experience.
Agree.. They just need time to get used to the environment...

So which means different name but usage wise same izzit?
read the instruction on the box. different brand of the same medication may have different concentration.
-
hi planua,
may i know where did you get your par 38 LED?
-
thanks bro.. but can they be kept together in the same tank? cause i remember reading from some webby, the monti will discharge some chem that will kill the bubbletip. is that true? i think i sound pretty stupid if its not true..
not only monti, most corals do that in the wild to compete for more space. but so far in my tank the anemones don't like to move up to where the corals are, where there are high light and flow.

Since you are using SE(Single Ended) MH you just need the
bulb.
So your investment is 4 or 5 bulbs with the lens of your
choice
Sherman
so do u mean 1 MH ballast for 1 bulb? or can i use my 250W MH ballast for all 4 bulb since even 4bulbs is less than 250W?
-
i have 2 X 250W SE MH.. if i get those bulb what other thing do i need to change?? do i need to buy a LED driver?
-
giving you now is = to letting the fish die.... get your tank up before u buy new fishes...

although not recommended... 4X2X2.5ft.. coral beauty, Powder Brown Tang, 2X percula clowns, bubble tip anemone, cup coral, cat eye bubble, pearl bubble, rocks and rocks and more rocks... of course with water too.. cannot measure phosphate and nitrate with salifert testkit (last measure 1 month ago before i started using my beckett skimmer again)... that was last time after my skimmer broke down... the tank is 4-5yrs old... so for the 1st 1/2 of the year, i did use a skimmer.. after that the pump broke down then no money to repair or buy new 1 and most impotantly parent complain my tank very expensive, and it did not have any ill effects on my tank except for the algae growth which i harvest manually... feeding regime is only pellets twice a day.. i used a chiller coz i am using a 250W MH with parabolic reflector (n the process of building my LED module)... i've just added a beckett skimmer so that i can keep SPS.. currently i have 2 big frag of orange monti and a radioactive birdnest frag from a kind reefer.. other inverts including 3 open brain, 2 wild acros, 1 anemone which i fail to identify (i think its corkscrew anemone). new addition on top of those i've already mentioned includes 1 powder blue tang which terrorise the tankmates right after it is put inside. yellow tang, baby regal tang and 5X firefish which always stays together..

I've not changed my tank water for 3yrs... No skimmer... Only nutrient export is the regular harvesting of algae from main tank...

The sailfin tang does the same thing as the cleaner wrasse... definitely not agressive as fins all closed and doesn't chase him.
hmmm maybe he could be sick...
oh thanks btw, regarding the other thread.
which thread?

Hello, just sharing my marine tank. It's an office tank that my parents so I can't really control the stocking but ohwell... It's nicknamed the Tang tank because we have super a lot of Tangs! (coincidently Tang is my surname )
The tank itself is approximately half a year old.
Enjoy!

Cleaner wrasse? Sailfin tang attempts to nibble on him once and awhile, but no broken fins or anything.
cleaner wrasse - most prob its just trying to clean it..
not too sure about your sailfin tang but it might be the problem... did it chase it away? but attempting to nibble seems to me like sign of not wanting the algae blenny to be in the tank... that is what happen to my algae blenny... my coral beauty chase the algae blenny away when it come out... and it starve to death...
or maybe your algae blenny is sick?

any fishes bullying it?
hi any one using ezproxy from local hard ware store

if i'm not wrong there are a few types of epoxy in the hardware store.. get those that can be use underwater. i am using those as well. but would recommend to cure it in a different pail of water just in case. btw i cured mine in another pail of salt water.
