    Yes, sorted that same day. Booked appointment and guy came over to check. It was not the chiller but was t5 light fixture that was leaking stray voltage,using Aquazonic fixture with ATI bulbs.

    Hi Reefers,

    I bought used chiller that is barely 1 year old. When I plug it in it's giving me faint electric shocks whenever I touch the aquarium water. It came with EU/German plug which I changed to standard 3 pin plug. So it is definitely grounded now. What are my options, should I call electrician to check it or bring it to some kind of repair shop? Any ideas. 

    I'm in north east if that matters.

    Stores with salinity at 1.024-1.025

    Hi Reefers,

    Can you please let me know which stores have their salinity at 1.025 rather than 1.017-1.020. Reason being my DT is at 1.025, I want to keep QT at 1.025 as well to keep it easier for me to do water changes and not make 2 different salt mix every time i need to change water in DT and QT. Other thing, if I get a fish at 1.017 then I have to slowly raise salinity to 1.025 in QT over the course of 3 weeks that is another chore to manage. Some stores keep their fishes in isolation boxes in reef tanks so their salinity is at 1.025 so  would prefer to visit those stores for buying livestock.

    Copper does nothing for fluke. Do fresh water dip for 5 minutes, that will give respite to fish temporarily as it will knockout flukes from gills. Try to use black container, fluke turns white color in fresh water so you will be able to properly diagnose if it is not flukes. Then treat with Prazi Pro or Prazi Gold in separate QT tank. Prazi acts very fast, will clear fluke withing 24 hours but you still need to treat for 5 days. change 50% water, give 2 days break to fish and dose again. 2nd dose will cover the complete lifecycle of eggs that survived 1st treatment. That should be enough.
