  9. Dear all, I am planning for moving out of this home I've lived in since 1998. Just found a buyer yesterday, and buyer was hesitant of taking over the tank. Lol.. I have to admit that it really is daunting for anyone without marine aquarium experience to care for these beautiful and delicate creatures. So, I am now planning for a patient process of decomm. First to go, of course are the livestocks. Collection is at Bedok Reservoir. 1. 3" Maxima clam. $25. 2. 4" Crocea clam. $20. 3. A rock of assorted zoas. $200. (Zoas Garden) FOC luminous GSP and golden cloves with purchase. Entire rock is about 2 kg. Estimated dimensions 10"x6"x7"(H). The top piece has entrusting monti attached. 2x Red monti and 1x chilli pepper (colour faded, but entrusting part still very green with red polyps. 10. Hi SM, I can quite conclusively say that the air pump is too weak. Bubbles are not brisk, and they don't cover the entire width. The algae grow in a square sheet on the glass. After scraping the algae from the glass, it looks just like a wet nori sheet. This is 21 days of growth. The canvas seem relatively untouched by algae. The screen is 7"x7" ie 49 sq inches. I'm using 9 pcs of 3W red 660nm LEDs. The lights are switched on 17 hours a day. The air pump definitely needs to be changed. Should I change one of the LED chips to blue? ie 8 reds + 1 blue..
  11. Oops just saw the dimensions on the first post.. my bad..
  12. This looks like a big tank.. 3'x3'x2'?
  13. Hi all, I just recalled that I still have this item never used, in my cabinet. Any takers? Price reduced to $32 (equivalent to 20% disc). I will deliver to you.
  14. Doing tank maintenance tomorrow. Upload some pics then. Thanks.
  15. If you're lucky, sometimes they venture onto the tank glass. This is when they're easiest to spot. Otherwise, it's when your zoas begin to close up in batches, look closely at the colony to see if you can spot them munching on the polyps. These darned nudis take on the colour of the zoas they've eaten, so it's quite tough to spot them. Takes a trained eye like mine (lol) to spot them. Note: It's suay to have a trained eye, as it means your zoas would have been infected.. hahaha..
  16. After switching to a bigger UAS 7" x 7" screen, my algae is also growing on the tank wall instead of the screen. Upgraded the lights to 9x3W red LEDs to cover the area, which rightfully is sufficient for this screen size. The air pump seems a little underpowered though.. Bubbles are only able to cover 3 quarters of the 7"air tube. Your thoughts SM?
  17. Thanks bro. Haven't had a sight of the nudis for a month already. Keeping fingers crossed for a continued absence of this buggers.
  18. Nice! The tank looks much much more spacious after the rescape. Well done!
  19. Time for some updates.. My last entry was for the event of the dreaded marine velvet. Thinking back and discussing frankly with the fish guru at The Fish Channel, I now highly suspect the disease was a result of my impatience, leading to the tank crash from the sudden overloading of an immature bio system. It has been now exactly 2 months since the beginning of the crash. Only the firefish has survived. Now it's a timid little fella hiding in its bolt hole 90% of the time. And I've added fish into the tank AT A VERY SLOW PACE. Tank now has a purple firefish, and a pair of black ocellaris, all QTed for 4 weeks. I also took another risk (calculated) by adding a stable small Atlantic Blue Tang from a reputable LFS which properly quarantines thier livestock before selling them. An FTS tonight. You can vaguely see the reflection of the ABT on the glass by the right. My zoas garden has also been decimated by them blardee nudis. These buggers are tough! After dipping them in triple-strength Coral Rx, and Flatworm Exit, several times a week, the nudis are still seen roaming about. My tweezers was always on standby. Every sighting of even 1 of them, my hands will reach in with the tweezers. Sometimes several times a day. What my zoas garden used to be like.. so full and colourful.. Now so sparse.. Realised also that those nudis have an expensive taste.. Good thing is that there has been zero sighting of nudis for 3 weeks. So glued the zoas frags on the rock again. And my eyes have evolved to train on camouflage kings- the blardee nudis.. Another good sign.. Baby zoas are beginning to sprout. You can try spotting 3 babies right in the centre of this photo. Looking forward to see you guys in LFSes again..
