  1. me keep chevron before from juv to adult and only take not more than 6 months time fully change to adult coloration without notification ... suddenly realize the color fully change already never know when it change ... juv are nicer with orange body and blue line but when adult become dark brown body with very dim white line ... when aggressive will be nicer with dark orange color but normally u wont realize there is a chevron in your tank lar haha ... dun think LFS will bring in adult fish cos no demand also nobody going to pay for a brown color fish with that expensive price ...

pic taken few years back during my chevron aggressive against others fish ...

    Nice work bro!

It does look like a kole tang, i must say, haha! I saw the one at CF too. But its a bit too small sized. sure kanna whack by the rest of my fish!

with my recent addition of sohal, i think i will need to stop getting tangs liao...

  2. may i ask what is the point of this thread? besides knowing if anyone kept a chevron tang before. this is a rather "common", occasionally available, and easy fish to keep as with most other bristletooth tangs. keping it from juvenile to adult just takes time.

oh, i actually like the adult better. but most of the time, when bros talk about chevron tang, it's usually the juvenile that is attractive to most. so i wanted to know if the LFS does bring in the adult, or will have to raise it from juvenile only. thanks.

  3. Hi bros,

I have read quite a few experiences of bros here about the seriousness of power failure. Quite a few had shared the experience of total fatality of livestocks due to power failure.

For me, UPS is not a feasible solution. In this case, are there other things that I could do to prevent fatality of livestock during power failure? For example, does keeping the tank lightly stocked help?

    Thanks.

  5. bro its interesting non marine pet but i not sure if its right for you to put them on sale here as some AVA guys might be luring around <_< and everyone in trouble. if i remembered correctly, last year you also posted some such animals for sale here too. it was hedgehog or something other animals.

Yep bro. I wrote to AVA before 2 years back, as i had wanted to get one from abroad. Answer was no no...

  6. my dad has done drilling on the side of glass, with tank water reduced to half..

u need a drill with the diamond cutter.. and use masking tape to tape up a border, and keep adding water as u drill slowly.. so far, 4 holes in my dad's 10mm tank, and 2 holes in a smaller 2ft seahorse tank..

but u need to be really careful, and its a risk.. especially there's livestocks in the tank..

I did the same thing. Got a diamond drill bit to make the hole. can be done. tank was 6mm thick. haven't tried on anything thicker though.

  7. I bought a scribble angel about 2 weeks ago.

Till now, it is still not feeding.

Please tell me how to get the fish to feed and what should I feed it other than pellets.

    :thanks:

I find keeping new fish in a small tank first helps to train it to eat earlier, since it will always have direct contact to the food, and no competition. Also, if i get it from the LFS, and the LFS could show that it is feeding already, then i will get the same food that the LFS feeds the fish, and feed it the same food, and slowly introduce other food.

  8. just came back from LCK 201.

all AT & gold flake angel sold. but got one tiny 1-1.5 inch chevy tang, still inside a container, which looked very cute. quite a lot of really big angels, which I don't know the names, and haven't seen in LFS.

Didn't notice any flame wrasse though. Most likely because i wasn't looking out for them.

    cheers
