  1. Hi,

    Is there any lifespan for sandbed. Currently have a SSB of around 2 inch. Have the sand with me for around 3 yrs. Read somewhere that sandbed can be a house for nitrate and will crash the tank after some time. Recently got a sudden spike in my NO3 (100ppm), could it be the sandbed about to crash? Should I replace them, if yes any suggestion what type of sand should I go for?

    Need advise urgently.

    PS: will be doing a major water change this week to bring down the NO3 and at the same time rescape my tank.

    a. Unicorn abt 5" @ $30

    b. Blue Tang abt 4"-5" @ $25

    c. Violet Tang abt 3" @ $25

    All very healthy and fat. Eat anything, pellet, mysis, brine shrimp, etc.

    Once have buyer will proceed to catch the fishes.

  3. Here is apic of the Gravel tube in action.

    As u can see the sand does not reach the top of the 4 feet long tube but the destritus will rise to the top.

    There is a valve at the top that also allows u to adjust the flow or stop the flow completely.

    Can share where do you get this interesting product? Am looking for something like that to clean the sandbed.
