Dear all,
Am thinking of restarting my reefing journey after been my last decom three years ago. Below are some of my thought
1. Tank size 72x30x27" - tank will be used as divider between living room and study. Either one view or two side view. Will be partitioning a room as tank room.
2. Sump size 54x24x24"
3. Vortex L1 x 2 return pump
4. Maxspec xf280 x 1
5. Skimz SM202 Skimmer
6. Maxspec recurve LED light 4ft
7. Profilux 4 controller
8. Pukani Dry Rock x 80lbs
Here are some question that need any suggestion and comment
1. Any tank maker to recommend?
2. Where can get pukani dry rock or equivalent?
3. Any comment or suggestion for equipment.
4. Should the overflow box be in middle or side?
Thanks in advance

Hi shifu, Saw that the time for the dose to be active is only 24 hours, my question is can I dose before the 24 hours mark is up? Eg I dose at 9am Monday, then my next dose is 9am Tuesday right? For preventive purpose, how many days must I dose per week to see its effectiveness. Thanks again

Cool. Thanks Thomas and Larry for the advice. Will start my dosing tomorrow.

That is UV light not UV sterilizer... UV rays are harmful not only to corals even to human skin..
Thanks for clearing the air.
-
in what way?
these are just nonsense that don't make sense at all.
if anything, running a UV system will improve coral health. UV will to a certain extent, remove organics in the water much like carbon would.
ic, thanks. Was told by some ppl when they heard i just installed a UV
-
how abt the coral.. heard having the UV on 24x7 will affect the coral health...
-
Thanks. Am using turbotwist 36W... so I can leave it on for 24x7
-
hi,
how long do you leave the UV on.. have different school of thoughts.. some told me to leave it 24x7, some say not more than 6 hours.
Some say it will kill good bacteria and result in coral dying.

Thanks for the info. Am thinking to have the overflow at one corner of tank since my tank will be viewed from both front and back (2 side view).
