  1. Has anyone seen this in shops here? It only costs US$29.99! Wondering whether it would work well despite its size... Current USA Fission Nano-Skimmer
  2. Thanks a lot hammerhd! Will check out SL.
  3. Thanks tan and flying carpet! Food wraps doesn't work well. I'm actually helping someone seal some products for retail sale. Flying carpet, do you know where to get the rolls?
  4. Hi All, Does anyone know where to buy those plastic bags that can used to seal remote controllers? I need those that 'shrink' and seal item tightly after heating with hair-dryer. Hope you know what I mean. Thanks in advance!
  5. Hi hammy, which shop sells these tanks? thanks!
  6. Btw Chris, as your tank tone is pretty dark, have your horses turn to darker colors at certain times of the day/week? Just curious...
  7. Keep it up Chris! Your work on seahorses command my deepest respect I used to keep them for a while (in 1990s) but failed miserably. I think it is slightly easier to keep now due to better knowledge and technology but still your effort is impressive. Show more pics please!
  8. Wow bigbird, you have exotic angels! I'm angel lover too. Care to post your full tank shots when you're free? Thanks in advance!
  9. Wow SoTongBall that's lots of angels! Care to share some tank pics? I love angels too...
  10. I can't seem to see a styrofoam underneath your tank. If you don't have one, please put one under your tank to prevent bottom glass cracking. I had that nasty experience twice in my life.
  11. Just curious, you're Thai or you brought it into Singapore? I'm an angel-lover... very envious... Is it getting better?
  12. Best of luck to Sauron! Joculator is such a beautiful angel!
  13. Just curious, may I know why is shallow sand bed worse than DSB?
  14. Good point cornyfish! Think frogfishes are best kept in a specimen tank yeah.
  15. Wow, I didn't realise so many benefits for keeping skimmer in-sump. Thanks again Melvyn Tan!
  16. http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthre...?threadid=18227 Interesting debate on effects of black sand on marine set-ups. Guess it depends on type of black sand. The research continues...
  17. Hi BH! What type of black sand are you using? I read somewhere that black sand is generally not recommended for marine setups due to gradual leakage of some chemical (sorry can't remember). Is this true? I also like black sand as it gives great contrast to brightly colored livestock but a bit hesitant leh... Btw, cute tank!
  18. Hi again acura007, One question on your DIY LR - does your final product contain enough porous holes and gaps for denitrifying bacteria to stay put? Just curious...
  19. Thanks RAV-65 and ALL! Now I feel better and more confident about going chiller-less
  20. Thanks Melvyn Tan for the idea! Can share with me what's the pros of that?
  21. I'm planning for my next 4X2X2 FOWLR tank based on Berlin system without chiller. Personally, I prefer the idea of out-sump as this frees up space in my sump for other purposes. Also, I know the main adv for out-sump is the heat reduction (since pump not in sump) but there are spillage risks. Assuming, footprint and height are not major constraints in my cabinet, what do you guys recommend the location of my protein skimmer, ie. in-sump or out-sump? What are the main pros/cons for each? Also, what models/brands do you recommend for a budget of $400 or less? Actually, the more I read about skimmers, the more I wanna pull my hair out... so many considerations!!!
  22. Suppose I get a juvenile one (2" or less) and it grows to adult. Do you think it will be still be as aggressive as those adults caught directly from the wild?
  23. I love this fish but a bit hesitant to consider it in my next FOWLR due to its aggression. My planned livestock for the FOWLR includes angels (big and pygmies), tangs, frogfishes, mandarins, blennies, shrimps, starfishes, etc. Do you think the Clown Trigger will be a 'mass-murderer' in this set-up? Would juvenile ones 'grow' to be less aggressive in captivity?
