Here's one reason I really like using scrubber without a skimmer. My purple gorg and red feather star stay open and extended all day and night, even though they naturally do so only during the night. But since there is no skimmer removing organics (food), and since the scrubber adds pods to the water all day, not only do they eat well, but they do so 24/7. Note: You cannot keep filter feeders likes these if you have a skimmer...

Guess your seahorse would be a male as males frequently can get air trapped in their abdominal pouch. Read the thread below as it gives a treatment.

no problem. had converted a RM CR to denitrator. Just put in media (sulphur + CaCO3) and run it.

Isn't it a lot of work? I got these Ocean Nutrition frozen food.. had so much trouble breaking it up.. because of the gel binding, it doesn't thaw. Its just like a piece of rubber. I had to use a fork to press and smash it up.. and still there are big pieces.

In the end I haven't even used half of the 2 packets and I threw it away.
