  1. U are welcome bro. A bit pai sei to rush u that day... actually i was getting quite desperate to give away the xenia cos of my bubbles passion
  2. Nice work, bro... I being busy lately...almost working daily... and exams still coming up end of mth.. haiz.. Recently had a small crisis in my tank.. My brown pearl bubbles not opening up big... eventually found the guilty coral (xenia) ... placed too near my bubbles.. finally had to give xenia away if not my bubbles sure game over...Now everything well and gd.. I am so glad... now so busy and tired...got to change my weekly water change schedule to 1wk plus instead of weekly. I juz got my ATI Tubes ...quite excited... will take photos soon.. though the ATI will not perform to its max capability as my lightset is SOLITE.. but i am sure it will be significant better than the AQUALUX tubes.
  3. coral and fish given away. Thanks for the keen response.. i am sorry that i am not able to reply to all.
  4. ANyone interested? Btw it is a package deal.... Got to take both... The xenia coral is brown colour with about 5 stalks in a rock (medium size). Prefer reefers who k collect them fast. Contact me @ 90032650 for a quick deal. Clownfish is medium small in size.
  5. Hope to get some views on my current problem... these one week plus ..my pearl bubbles and frogspawn have not being opening great... this coincides with the introduction of soft coral (xenia) placed near these two corals... my other parameters in tank is ok. These two corals with me for 3/4 of a year liao...always doing gd...my question is whether is it possible that xenia is releasing chemical attacking the LPS? Btw i got two more bubbles corals still doing well, i suspect they are fine as they are some distance away from the xenia. Really would appreciate any opinion and views
  6. Juz went yest night... no more BE anthias le.. all sold out liao However still got some very nice evansi anthia to drool at
  7. Its a brittle star. Leave it in yr tank.. it will help u eat detris in the tank...
  8. To sell 2gether with Aquapharm Magnesium soln (40%) left. Both @ $8 only. To collect in AMK. Thank you
  9. Princesseve, do get a fan for yr tank also.. the hot mid-year spell is coming soon. Temperature may be going up high during daytime. Maintaining a temperature of 27 C would be gd.. Or at least not over 30 C... I think for soft coral.. try not to be over 29 C. A air stone skimmer should be sufficient for yr tank. IMO, ammonia and Nitrite testkit is optional if u have the patience to cycle yr tank for a mth. As u have added in bacteria, the ammonia and nitrite should have gone down by then though no harm getting these testkits if got budget.
  10. Bro Chris, u also doing a overflow pipe system for yr 2 feet tank and sump system? Looking forward to see yr tank pictures soon in this members' forum Got gd pictures, must share ok
  11. Deltec Tank ?? Brother, that is really a luxury...something like choosing to drive a ferrari or posche in singapore... Only a minority of reefers would spurge $ on a deltec tank ... how to catch a fish w/o using net? fishtrap would take ages... the last major exercise really taught me a lesson...juz imagine taking almost all my LR out... then after that my skimmer skimmed like crazy... really panic at that time
  12. Advisable not to get hermit crabs for a small tank like yours as hermit crabs are opportunistic scavengers.. esp big hermit crabs are a no no... i k predict that u may be getting small fishes.. and in a small tank when space is at a premium.. opportunities for hermit crabs to strike yr fishes when they are sleeping is high.. And btw Aquapharm soln A is to increase calcium in yr water and Soln B is to increase alkalinty (kH)... nothing to do with liverocks... strongly recommend u to get a salifert kH testkit as a minimum to test yr water for kH.. as alkalinity(kH) is a buffer for pH ... having a low kH will cause yr pH to dip low when u top up yr tank with fresh water to replace evaporated water. Get a refractometer instead of a hydrometer is a gd investment to ensure chance of success. As hydrometer esp the cheap ones often provide u with inaccurate salinity of yr water... Last but not least, i advise cycling yr tank for 4 weeks b4 any addition of livestock... putting a cheap damsel fish now can be cruel to the fish... despite it is a cheap fish..its still a life afterall right And to avoid disappointment, do research and get the right type of fishes... dnt get fishes at least for the next few mths that are not that hardy... read anthias for example.
  13. Bro, Lemonpeel angel u keep look gorgeous Is it reef-safe? Got peck at yr coral? I always thought of keeping angels... but afraid that they will peck at corals and tubeworms... esp in my small 2 ft setup
  14. Bro, i will not be starting a new bigger tank so soon... got to beef up the wallet 1st Last week, almost tear down my tank to catch the naughty blue eye anthia out ..later rescape to try to get back the old shape of the tank.. very tedious n siong Affected my corals a bit... this two days juz get better after two water changes... though my green pearl coral got hurt quite bad, haiz being reading that u are upgrading yet again looking forward to yr updated tank threads
  15. Coral collected by bro skytrain, as he is the 1st to pm me and most importantly able to collect fast. Thanks for all the interest. Thread closed.
  16. As above. Its a big plate. abt 8cm in diameter. Its not doing very well.. shows sign of receding.. abt 90% gd.. The colour is green with brown tentacles.. the green is not very green.. do take note... anyone interested k come amk to collect... Thanks
  17. Sis bivi, Get a refractometer to measure the salinity of water is recommended. Do keep the salinity at ard 1.023 to 1.025.... If use a hydrometer, get a corallife deep six hydrometer, really think a refractometer would be a much better choice... cost ard $60++ at reefdepot... or u k get it second hand at pasam malam section. It be cheaper.
  18. I suggest that u used mysis shrimp (come in frozen cubes) to feed yr fishes as u mention the pellets are too big for the fishes.. and having the pellets lying on the bottom of tank and slowly decomposing, will add on to yr ammonia, nitrite and nitrate... u k easily get the mysis shrimp from any LFS. I k see that the tank setup with the cabinet is very nice...must have cost quite a bit also... hope yr tank will eventually get to an excellent tank soon. And i recommend u getting tropic marine salt... red sea salt is cheap, i understand... but quality wise left to be desired... if u use a more quality salt like tropic marine... u would no need to worry abt the magnesium, kh and calcium level of yr water... juz my 2 cents worth of opinion And do change to a better skimmer... get a macro-skimmer...if budget constraint.. u k look around at pasam malam section to get second hand skimmer to save more $.
  19. Thanks for yr kind words, bro... i do intend to set up a bigger tank in the future... but due to budget...most likely would start only a 3 ft tank..
  20. Mine is a just normal ok tank only.... restricted by $$$ Btw the overflow pipe dia is 2cm.. if i am not wrong.. i do use a ball v/v to control The return pump from sump to main tank is a 2000l/hr pump... but due to the ball v/v opening throttled to 75% open and the head los s and pump efficiency... i suppose the return flow is < 1000l/hr flow... which i reckon, should be enough for my small 2 feet tank... Hope my info help... perhaps u k share with me, how yr system is ..
  21. Bro, i am not using any chiller... as i mention b4.. mine is a cheap setup compared to many bros tank setup... i used frozen water bottles in my sump tank to bring the temperature in my tank down.... being doing that for abt half a year liao... actually i only start to keep LPS only since last year oct that time..
  22. As above.. condition not 100%... abt 90% gd... quite big abt8cm in diameter... green colour. collect at AMK.
