  1. Woke up today and found half of my bubble coral's tissues got inside the water intake inlet of my Prizm skimmer. Managed to pull it out, but found that in the process I have torn part of the tissues of the bubble coral. Question is will the bubble coral still survive? Pretty sad coz this coral is being with me for quite a while ... What can I do to save it?
  2. A local newspaper ran a competition asking for a rhyme with the most romantic first line... but the least romantic second line. Here are some of the entries they received. I thought that I could love no other Until, that is, I met your brother. Roses are red, violets are blue, sugar is sweet, and so are you. But the roses are wilting, the violets are dead, the sugar bowl's empty and so is your head. Of loving beauty you float with grace If only you could hide your face Kind, intelligent, loving and hot; This describes everything you are not I want to feel your sweet embrace But don't take that paper bag off of your face I love your smile, your face, and your eyes - Damn, I'm good at telling lies! My darling, my lover, my beautiful wife: Marrying you screwed up my life I see your face when I am dreaming. That's why I always wake up screaming My love, you take my breath away. What have you stepped in to smell this way My feelings for you no words can tell, Except for maybe "go to hell" What inspired this amorous rhyme? Two parts vodka, one part lime
  3. I dun see any side-effects so far for using distilled water. I am currently using the brand "Life", also from NTUC.
  4. Water is to be added on a daily basis, so you do not need to add water during water changes.
  5. should be throwing out 10 - 20% instead of half the tank.
  6. time to upgrade to T5s. Or at least Power Compacts.
  7. IMO better to add all you can now provided you do not have any live stocks inside your tank. The cycling period will however be prolonged due to new source of die-offs, but will definitely be better than having numerous mini-cycles whenever you add new LRs on a progressive basis.
  8. looking good! time to change my eden ..
  9. As for me, I will do some "rocking" every morning to clear off the air pockets. You'll never know when the canister will stop running due to air clog inside (has happened to me before).
  10. Beautiful aren't them? Just too bad that it's kinda hard to replicate the environment where they flourish... here's one of the link .. Jewel - Easy to Keep?
  11. give it up.. it's hard to keep them over a year based on general experience.
  12. An equipment used commonly to draw intake from the water surface thru the aid of a filter. More for FW... If you do not have an overflow - this will be the next best thing to go for.
  13. I tend to avold all angels .. felt that they can't be trusted at all IMO.
  14. can be from the food you feed them too... IMO better to have at least a surface skimmer. It can be connected to the overhanging filter too - have seen some people doing it instead of connecting to canister filter.
  15. They must be having fun now .. Happy Birthday!
  16. any users of this product care to drop by some comments?
  17. I think Tanzy refer to the product as not a new or special product, rite? (not a good nor bad comment) His term "novel" got me "hanged" for a while.. powderful england sia ..
  18. not very sure liao.. do see quite a few. The few I remembered is PH, KH, Ammonia, NO2, NO3 & Ca. I think the price is btw 50 - 70 for the whole set. Whereas the individual is selling around 20.
  19. Saw this Red Sea test kit selling at RB - wondering whether is it reliable? Anyone wanna share? I do tot of buying the whole set, which is cheaper than buying the individual test kits. Can't remember the exact price though ...
