  1. Just came back from there and boy it's definately not a good time to dive there now as current is so strong and even the DM was swept away..... Have to cling on to rocks for my dear life... and the other hand holding on to my mask as it's gonna blow away!!!! On my way back heard from the owner of one of the island that now is the spring season and no one in the rite mind would dive now... The best season to dive is from sep onwards as current is mild, manta ray and whale shark season as well only did 3 dives there, so can't say much but personally from the 3 dive site i still think sipadan is much better though....
  2. i've seen lots of garden eel in their natural habitat during diving.... they require deep sand bed. Which is deeper than their lenght... so in danger... they go straight down. Guess no one would have the rite mind to have a sand bed of at least 2ft or more just to keep garden eel just my 2 cents. cheers
  3. Going to Aur this weekend Can't wait....
  4. may i advice you to change your topic title please before you get the "Tick Tock" from Da boss. not sure what i'm toking about? refer here please topic title the matrix carbon is alrite but phosguard.... for the price .... why not use rowaphos as most have tried and believe to be more effective. just my 2 cents
  5. Hope this link help Breeding Cleaner Shrimp Good luck and lots of patient.
  6. you are most welcome bro..... would love to learn from you on horses.... but due to work commitment still unable to keep them yet
  7. once they have attached to the rock... the top part of the mesh will be covered by them already. All you can do is remove the rubberband and resize the mesh to as small as possible and just a matter of time they will be covered by xenia. as for iodine, i did not add at all but only add reef plus 1 tsp twice weekly and all looks fine
  8. Follow the link here and you shall be enlighten..... wondering should i try their mass production method Xenia Propagation
  9. This is a good idea as seller only need to pay if there is any sales as compared to no. 2(p.s- how do you track how many they have sold.. if they are contacted via pm or direct thru phone) This is not really good for the DIY(er) as there might not be even any sales....... This is the best solution as both rule 1 and 2 can be applied. Which ever fits my 2 cents
  10. just came back from dayang ....... a group of OWD student actually saw Mantas and another diving group saw whale shark of about 7m and guess wat........ i was around that area but heading opp direction...... A group of japanese claims that near monsoon season..... mantas and whale shark will be hanging around dayang area.......

  13. 14. I think most of us do not not bother to check if the coral are from Cites approve sources as we can't verify that and being the owner of this forum definately cannot be responsible for forumer buying from which lfs as we can't even ascetain if their stock is cites cleared However with this forum, it is helping ppl to learn more about this hobby and with knowledge from this forum, corals bought could thrive in the rite condition and once a hobbyist's tank is full of corals.. do you think he will be able to buy more?? I'm not saying my tank is in optimum condition, but i do choose corals that i can sustain in my tank and frankly i have to really consider real hard even i see a nice piece of coral that i would like to be in my tank, which more often than not it's not in my tank as it's full tank liao I would like to thank AT to provide this forum for hobbyist to learn more about this hobby and help most but not all to do things right the first time rather than trial and error like me in those early days.
  15. I think your skimmer is a bit too low and it is clear water in the collection cup Try to shift it upward to where your first green ring holder is and i dunno how strong is your air pump but should be stronger to create a turbulence inside to be more effective.
  16. looks like those selling at luo han shop as underwater uv light or something like that
  17. This article from reefkeeping online mag on Ricordeas did mentioned this I've just started a 2ft shroom tank and still under cycling and will try to lit it only with those light from Azoo which mimic lights intensity at a depth of 6-8m(i think) and see how is the out come and will risk one of my florida ric from ML and see how the color turns out. In my current tank i do notice those place higher up is loosing it's color abit

  21. looks like he is using a mac and the little icon looks like quick time
  22. I think it will be good for you to do some search on the web as many professional articles are being posted on the web, so let your fingers do the walking abit. For a start perhaps you can refer to Mushroom prop and it provide a step by step guide for you and yes pictures are included if you wanna know If you need more info on other website.... think Tanzy had already started a tread and it's very helpful if you wanna know more only thing..... so many things to read and so little time
