This info might be of help http://www.ecosystemaquarium.com/html/hangonback.html http://www.cpraquatic.com/products/citr.html their width is 4.5" hope this helps
  3. i do dose reef plus in my tank which includes iodine. placing them on sand bed is okay but just ensure they have lots of current. Mine is place the outlet of my left to right wave maker so strong current on it with interval..... try to place it where it can get strong water flow to "blow" away the slime and they will do just fine like i said in the earlier post.... in the wild it's normal as they do form a layer a slime to rid their surface of debris and ocean current carries it away and hence you do not see the slime in the wild... All you need to do now is shift it to a strong current area that is strong enuff to lightly blow off ther slime and wait and see
  4. Fingers tends to form a layer of film to rid themself of debris on their surface. Perhaps you should shift it to a location with higher current flow so that it will sweep away the film on it. As in the wild the current or wave will do this job...

may i suggest that you increase the (w)to 5 instead of 4, as i've DIYed a couple and found the w @5 is easier to work and clean. Wish you had it out earlier so that i dun have to waste 2 prototype before i'm finally happy with it. Oh my final diy is 12(H)x18(L)x5(W) all the best in your sales
  6. First post of gatecrasher..... be nice guys...... after all the effort we have put in to make a name in ST ya know Gatecrasher .... you can read the topic under setting up of marine tank or go to http://www.garf.org to learn how to make a simple setup for reef tank called the bullet proof reef tank... your mushroom and not so demanding corals should be able to survive or thrive. you might wan to read onlinemag which now they are featuring an article on ricordeas which is same requirement as you mushroom. Try to read up more to keep them going and enjoy reefing for years to come my 2 cents
  7. i'm using 2011 and 2012 in diff tank...... skimmate is like kopi-o. I think you can't remove the collection cup maybe due to the O-ring is too dry... once you remove it ... perhaps it will be good to just apply some vaseline on the O-ring for your future ease to remove it..... oh the skimmate will decrease when the internal cylinder have a layer of whatever waste attached to it.....once i remove it and the efficiency went up and good again
  8. no lah aiptasia is not that big ..... size of a 50cents coin.... it looks very close to sand anemone though. Have had aiptasia problem.... but dun look like that
  9. as above. Have collected the above from east coast around the canal near the seafood center. It's about the size of 50cents coin. They are all closed up and it's low tide and they are out of water.... so if you are there.... look closely... and oh hermit crabs too.... both blue and yellow leg
