  5. Bwilly,

As long as your algae are sharing the same water source, it doesn't matter if it's in the refugium or the main tank.

What is the better advice should be is: Not to have them placed in the main tank so that the macroalgae doesn't overgrow the corals. :D

    ah.. I am veri hardworking..

    found your thread AT..hehe..

oki. pls enlight if I am wrong.

What I meant is the green plants

will absorb (as per book) nitrate

in the water, deplete the level

    to a reasonable level.

Eh, these so called unnice plants - weeds,

    are also called algae..??

My concern is if the plants are in the main

tank, won't it immediately get the same

nutrients and compete with your corals?

all the (calcium, stronium, iodide) drips so should be into the main

tank, corals absorb the nutrients and passby the weeds/plants in the refugium.

Its like your always gave your favourite son the best first, excess then

    pass to the daugther. haha..

  6. Bwilly, check my response in the other thread where you gave a similar answer.

Theory is there but some facts are wrong. ;)

sjsheng... nitrites must be zero as it is toxic to all livestock.

wah liu.. care to enlighten here for

    the benefit of others too..?

play hide n seek darn shack..

under wat thread..? U post so many each

    day man.. :(

the other time I posted another thread

on the wrong information written by

    Newspaper, no news leh..?

    (published Nitrate should be Zero..

should be mistaken Nitrate as Nitrite)

or is it the correct one..? doubt so..

ya.. I thought this another thread..

    hehe..

now I remember another guy also posted

    but with NO3 = 3 or isit 0.3?

    Summarise should be

    NH4 (ammonia) = 0

    NO2 (Nitrite) = 0

    NO3 (Nitrate) = 50mg/L n below

*sigh must be getting excited abt going BKK.. hiakhiak..!*

  9. thought I posted here, disappear..?

    anyway..

    anyway (again.??), zero the better.

dun tik much ppl can maintain

    at that level.

anyway, get some greenie to suck

away the nitrate. ammonia n nitrite

    maintain zero.

change partial water n if got refugium,

    stock with greenie n weeds..

they will reduce your nitrate level, n

since not in main tank, won't compete

    with your corals for nutrients..

  10. sorrie yesterday blur. NO3 is veri good.

Mine currently stand betweens 12.5mg/L to 25.

Take note of your NO3, it may shoot up.

Getting some greens (weeds) to take in the NO3 in future

is good. try to put greens somewhere like a refugium

to makan the NO3, not direct in tank where greens

compete with your corals for nutrients.

  11. suppose to post mine..

    put mine to shame..

    slurp...

wife says the greenish crocea is veri nice.

Can Pm where u got it n how much?

One that Augustine is kind to choose for me...

Its more purplish, the cam some sort capture

    it as bluish..
