  1. Welcome DSLR, DA!! :P

The kit lens I find it already very good.

18-55mm, gives you some wide angle coverage, though some more core photographers will want something better.

DA, you may need to get this zoom lens.

Good and reasonable pricing, I got it at $330.

    Its a Sigma 70-300mm APO D Macro.

I have not tried it yet, but you can use it for zoom as well as taking macro shot of nature, yes shy fishes..

Focus is fast I tested. Review is pretty good, extreme end (70 & 300) quality not bad. Next upgrade.. hehe..

Got time I try this len and update.

Also get a $10 UV filter to protect your lens, also change len n remove, try to tilt the camera downwards. Prevent dust from getting into the camera affecting your sensor.

    Canon 350D uses 58mm filter.

  2. Bro, looks like a cool piece of toy! when can we expect some nice pics from you? :P

I will be joining some of the snapper of a local photo forum for some shots.

This month my company organise beach party at Sentosa for staffs, I am in the organising commitee, hopefully I can spare some time snap some of the chio bu of my company. :)

  3. hotlemond, you need to get a drybox to keep it.

At least get a cheapo one, $20 with gel throw in.

U dun want a couple of G cam go mouldy n dusty on you.

If got budget, get a dry cabinet like me, I got mine for abt $200+.

Can dump everything in, wedding album, muscle supplements, porno mags..

those stuffs that you want to keep dry n in good condition.

    How does this look?

Familiar? Same workflow I used for the FZ20 the other time.

  4. Just got my set from Harvey Norman Yishun, due to the many promotions bundle. Saw today newspaper on the offer.

Service is pretty crap when the middle aged guy served me.

I ask him what's bundle, He says, where got free things???!

I retorted back "wah lan.. newspaper put wat, your manager never update you is it?"

Decide to buy from him even though service was crap, since its near my home and I get the free Air Supply concert tixs.

    What I got.

    Canon 350D w/kit lens

    1G Kingston (normal speed) CF

1G Lexar 80x CF (from Canon but redeem at HN)

    Digi tripod - rrp $28

    Canon bag - rrp $48

two free tixs to air supply on 23rd June 2005

    3 years extended warranty

    battery grip

    Total $2168 ($1999 + $169)

Pretty reasonable since I can pay via my CC installment plan.

Also I saved myself going down the trip to harbourfront.

After deducting all the cost, its almost similar from some local shops pricing.

  5. Aiyah, not the first time lah... been featured in ST before during the publicity generated by the SRC Saving Nemo campaign! :P

I take it as to make up for all the trouble caused by the reporter who said it was so easy to set up a marine tank and gave all the wrong info! I remember having to write a few half-page articles in ST Classifieds to give proper advice just to counter-act the damage! ;)

I remembered some parts were wrongly quoted during the nemo craze.

The article that was published in ST classified that is..

  6. There was also a article on AT & his tank 1 or 2 years back in a chinese fish magazine....two thumbs up,boss! :D

Fish magazine is nothing, but you get published on the main papers (no.1 in sales in Singapore), then that's something.

I remembered I wrote something to complain on the ST Forum, kept that copy of article for ages..
