  1. Bro me no expert I've been using dead LR since day 1 and until now no problem. Only bought some live rock to kick start caroline growth.

I prefer to start cycle with dead rocks because no pest, no algae to worry later, the only thing is the rock have no caroline algae but it grow if you good water parameter.

As for bacteria that's the reason you need to cycle the tank.

Just 1 question to you what are worries.

    ps this is only IMHO

  2. I got all my piping from here

Hong Seng hardware No. 131 Tyrwhitt Rd

    Tel. 62983055

They have the whole range of PVC pipes even US Standard piping. Call them 1st before going down just incase they don't have what you looking for.

If you are into DIY go further up to French Rd below the HDB flat lots of stuff. :eyebrow:

  3. Normal turn over rate for your tank you can use 3500 to 4000 l/hr if you want higher then can go for 6k or 6.5k. Do a search on turn over rate to find out more so you can decide which 1 you to go for. :peace:

  4. Hi Claude

If you want to use in a new tank then wait till Live Rock is inside and then make the sand in the tank

So it's better to cycle the live rock before putting the sand in is this correct.

You can use it with the Water inside

    I don't understand :paiseh:

but never do Live Rock direct in the Sand

    I don't understand :paiseh:

I'm interested to find out what you trying to explain don't really know about arroganite sand :thanks:

  5. I have some organisms that are sticking to my tank glass. they look like a white dot with short tips. the size of these are very small around 1-2mm in diameter only. can any1 help me identify what are these? thanks

Bro no pic how to identify, if pods its good for tank but if it's nudibranch then you should kill it. Do a search on pods and nudibranch so what action to take. :peace:

  6. No problem but must on the light 24/7 or reverse photoperiod (on the light at night). If you using a low wattage light growth will be very slow that's what I encounter. As long as the chaeto not dying it should be OK.

  7. Must be an alien fish, i'll buy it from u at $10. then donate it to the marine research lab.... =p

So bro elune still wanna buy the fish from me, then can donate to a research lab mah. Just to confirm it's not an alien fish, what say you. :eyebrow:
