  1. hi all. Just want to share my tank with you guys here. this is my fisrt tank..set up in January 2005 bored with softies, i tried to keep some sps now. and this is my current tank, the acros and montis have been about 8 month in my tank yet 72 gallons 250 watt XM 20kk 4xT5 Barraquatic SK1000 skimmer 1/2 pk custom chiller
  2. sorry guys. i failed. about 2 weeks after my last post , i was admitted to hospital for 3 weeks because of thypoid fever and hepatitis A. while i was in hospital, no one took care about them. of course becaus e my parrents so worried about me that they wouldn't think about them. and when i came home. i found failed- operating cooling fans and skimmer, 1.200 salinity, and one small green yuma..... from 30 frags only 1 which could survive!!! IT SUCKS!!!!!!!!!
  3. sorry for late reply, been vary busy lately. 2 days ago i opened the net, and found that only 7 from 30 frags had attached. and i was so glad that the pink one had attached . btw i cannot take pictures because my sister borrowed it. i'll do it when i get it back. noo., u don't have to. if u put them in the original main tank, IMO it's better. tank dimension is 60cm x 40cm x 35cm temp is about 26-28C calsium is 380ppm dkh is 11 i'm using NSW there are no fishes in my prop tank
  4. i use dymax T5 . i know it's not a good light, but. the last time i used this , i managed to propagate my cheap yuma the water parameters:nitrate = 10ppm! blah , nitrite zero , po4..haven't test yet
  5. sorry for late reply 1. no, don't have to be so tight. I gave them a little space 2. not sure, but i think it's better not to tied it accross the mouth
  6. update seem they are healing now. but not sure whether they have attached or not...i'll open the net about 1 week later to check.
  7. sorry for my bad english. i don't know how to say , but may be this will help www.ricordea.org r.florida isn't available in my country....
  8. u'r welcome bro..! and good luck even though it is an old blade, it's not rusty as what u think. many ways to frag them. It's all up to u what kind of metodes u want to try. this is how i did. and we'll see the result later
  9. E. see the rock. little flesh that had been left F. wash it to prevent infection from the slime. Use water from it's current tank. G. now using a clean and sharp scissor, cut them in the middle from the mouth. Thing that u should consider is each pieces must have mouth and foot. Don't let any of the pieces not having foot or mouth. they can be died, or grow slowly. H. Because this yuma is so small (2 cm diametres) i only cut them into 2 pieces to decrease mortality rate. But for bigger yuma, you can cut it into 4 pieces, or more. I. Wash them one more time to get rid of the slime J and K are the same as my first post above
  10. Ok, here are the steps: A. these are the tools that i used to prop them B. And this is my little yuma. Actually it is too young to be propagated (2cm diametres), but i think it's still ok lah C. Try to cut them as bottom as possible. I cut it from here D. Cutting...
  11. OK, there is nothing to hide, bro. this is a sharing forum, isn't it just info, this is my first try in propagating mushrooms. i tried it with the cheapest mushroom. here is my first time and this is my first result in propagating yuma with the cheap one first. now she's still a baby
  12. hi guys, since yumas are so $$$ , i think it's better for me to culture them, so here is what i am doing now:P these are some of my collections before they are fragged: now here are the steps: i'll try to keep it updated. inputs or comments are welcome!
  13. thanks guys, i forgot to say that i'm from indonesia. and sorry for my bad english i found this forum about 2 days ago, and i think this forum is great! i bought that coil from my friend, whom from indonesia too. it's about 1.500.000 rupiahs (in SGD, it's about 250) I used to use Resun CL280 for my tank. for the first 8 month, it was nice. it can chill my tank from 30-25 for 2 hours. after that, i found that it couldn't do its job well anymore. 24 hours running, and could only reach 28C! and i think it's sucks! my mother wanted to "kill" me because of its electric bill i've tried to get it repaired, but none of ac technicians in my city can repair it. and there's no resun service centre in my country .it made me mad! then i did a search in RC, i found so many thread about great diy chiller. then i made this chiller with my AC technicians. the titanium was the hardest part to find. fortunately i managed to find it i got the digital controller and probe from the cl-280. the titanium coil in it isn't enough for 1/2 hp. this diy has been running in my tank for about 3 months, and i haven't found any problem yet. the total cost is 3000.000 rupiahs (about SGD 500). quite expensive, but i think i got what i paid resun cl-650 is about 3000.000 rupiahs (SGD 500) in indonesia, but remember that it's only 1/6 hp! why do i have to pay SGD500 for 1/6hp if i can get 1/2 hp at the same price it only runs for about 4-5 hours a day in my tank.
  14. hi guys, i'm new here. and here is my diy chiller. i built it from AC outdoor unit. it's 1/2 hp. this is the diagram the titanium coil i put the coil submersed in the sump digital controller the probe it takes 30-45 minutes to chill 120x50x50 (cm) main tank, and 96x25x37 (cm) from 29C to 25C what do u think?
