  2. Aeration is juz air-ing the salt water...

Leaving it overnite is a slow but and FOC way of airing it lah... If u impatient den can juz use powerhead or airpump to drive the water...

i always leave it overnite....appox more than 12hrs b4 introduce to tank hehehehe....just enviromental air only..no pump used hehehe :rolleyes::rolleyes:

  3. T-Shirt sound great. But you will need to made many sizes.

I think iron on is easier to make.

    Just my 2 ct though.

    Regards

hahaha yalor.....mayb if go to lfs then mayb can recognise ppl from src...... :):):)

  4. Hi Reefers,

i got one week old SICCE Extrema to let gp @ $50 . Reason is not suitable for my tank.

    Specifications:

    - Power consumption: 35 watts

    - Max delivery head: 3 metre

    - Adjustable flow rate range: 563 L/hr ~ 2500 L/hr

    Interested parties pls PM me

    Thks

how much u bought it...?? at 2500l/hr....can only take 3m head???

    can lessen the price somemore???

  5. I'm sorry but I do not quite understand what you specifically mean self-prime. I only understand it from a canister filter point of view when stating self-prime.

For the pic that I had attached to my previous post, as long as there are no air pockets in the system to break the siphon, except at the open end, the overflow will continue to function as per normal when water is pumped into the tank.

If there is no water going into the tank, the overflow ceases to function, vice versa.

When the unit is placed in the water, there will be an air pocket at the first 'U-shaped' bend.

The principle is to remove the air in that pocket so that it is filled with water to start the siphon.

This removal can be done via ###### the air out through a plastic tube or incorporate a normal control valve to allow the air pocket to disipate while water is filling up the tube.

The water level in the tank will always be the same level of the 'T'-joint at the open end. (basically at the tip of the 5th arrow from the left on the diagram).

I hope this makes things clearer.

The only problem I can think of with the funky one is starting of the siphon for the overflow. There should be an outlet where air pockets can escape from the bends in the tube.

hmmm quiet interesting....but where to get all those pvc pipes n joints....???

  6. Hi, can't really advice you but just to share, you can try to feed it with some live brine shrimp. Sometime they dun eat when first introduced or when stress. other stuff like squid, minced clam and worms are recommanded too. They also eat coral... if live brine shrimp dun work, try a open up clam and placed it on the botom. Cheers

mine only try to bite tings on the live rocks.....

  7. look easy, just cut and knock the glass off, wait till you buy the glass cutter and

cut yourself you will know the difficulty plus wasted the $$. Better to bring it to the

glass maker to do the job.

1 2 make hole at my already set up tank.....any idea how to do it....cause impossible to cary it to cut at glass shop......

  8. I chose to use a normal tank and DIY myself, just plan your own design, ask glass shop cut and silicon yourself, pretty easy and most imptly, cheap!

hehehe ;) how cheap can it goes if u already have a empty tank n just buy the glass for the partition...hehehe :angel::angel: nvr diy myself......but mayb wanna try a new "model" of my sump....so how does the glass shop charge usually per meter sq......???

  9. Soft corals do not have a stony calcium carbonate skeleton base.... they are soft in structure and they glue themselves onto rocky structures. They do not require a lot of calcium and sunlight generally.

Hard corals on the other hand, build skeletons and therefore require a lot of calcium to do so. These are 'reef builders', in the sense that they actually form the bulk of the reef structure as they grow upwards and outwards... and their dead skeletons form the reef structure upon which other marine creatures built themselves on.

Gatecrasher... yes... a brain coral has a stony skeleton and is therefore a hard coral.

where to get a quality LR......??

  10. shld be able to get from Sup**** Aquarium

"shld" because can't tell the diff bet them but if according to spidy, tonga is the branch type and from here derive fuji is the stone type :P
