  1. A picture of your tank setup will greatly help fellow reefers to see where your problem lies.
  2. Can post a pic of the sump?
  3. Bro, 2 tubs of Sorb 4 not enough lah.... think u need another 2 tubs.. hehehe.
  4. I have a Matrix 2 x 55W PL light that comes with adjustable stands which should be able to fit for 18". Let me know if you are interested.
  5. Here you go. Reef Depot Aquamarin Petmart
  6. For FOWLR, lighting is more for viewing pleasure. Changing to T5 might give you more options to play with different light tubes but thats about it. If you do not plan on introducing corals to your tank, you dun really need to bother about the wattage of the lights. As what Bro Limpc mentioned, if you do not wish to spend too much, better dun change. Normal PL lights will suffice for FOWLR.
  7. I have a Coral Life 9W UV if you are interested.
  8. Sorry about that Bro CopperBand. Just that sometimes it pains me to see reefer chasing after the lastest fabs without having a more solid understanding as to what they are doing. I apologise to the mods if my post were posted in the wrong way but this is my personal experience and I am sure quite a few reefers share my views.
  9. Sorry to be a wet blanket Chercm... You seems to have problems keeping sps even with a skimmer.. You think its wise to change your system so soon? How much do you know about marco algae and how they work as natural filtration? Going by your track record, I think you should read it up now, ask more questions and understand more before you start trying and not the other way around.

  22. measure your water parameters for ammonia, nitrite and nitrate. Do a little read up on tank cycling and you will have a rough idea what to do next. The idea of putting a dead prawn into the tank is to start the nitrogen cycle. There are alot of information on tank cycling in the forum for you to read up on. Do check it out.
  23. Hi Bro, you need to be able to control the flow going into the FR cos if the flow is too strong, the media you put inside will flow out into your tank and make a mess. You just need to add a adjustable valve to the input tube of the FR. Whether to use individual pump or T off from chiller or skimmer is up to individual reefers. Individual pump is easiest but it means u need to buy an extra pump and it will add to the heat load. T-off from chiller or skimmer also can be done but you have to be good with DIY piping lor.
  24. Bro, FR and calcium reactor are 2 very different things. FR is just a reaction chamber for water treatment media. Reefers normally put phosphate removal media or carbon in a FR to maximise the effect. For a Calcium Reactor, it helps to maintain the calcium level in your tank at ard 400~450ppm depending on individuals when it is properly tuned and running. If you are into SPS, a CR will be very helpful. FYI, FR normally sells for anything from 30 to 100 dollars. CR easily cost a few hundred dollars....and that dun include the CO2 tank ..
  25. From looking at your sump design, just put small pieces of live rocks in the middle compartment and leave the last and biggest compartment for your return pump, skimmer and FR.
