wah minor crashes already send tiny parts flying all over my living room... major crash how???
btw do you guys fly over grass? If so when parts start to fly about, how to locate them??
-
Size 90 will be the best to fly but require big air space......I sold away my size 30 is always due to space. Anyway, just confirmed a humblebee 4CH heli from a micro heli pilot. Collect tonight. Brand new sold at 2nd hand price at 165. Hope is worth it. Very temp. to purchase a Trex model for myself................
does it come with transmitter? coz I got my hughes everything in with transmitter for 160 2nd hand...
CKS: btw what makes the trex more stable? better gyro?
-
I've taken off!!! Managed to hover for about 3-4secs before I entered the deadly swing of death and slammed into furniture..
Now I've padded my furniture with pillows to make space for practice.. haha..

Mellow is arranging rite? heh
how abt stating where u guys stay?
and i shall start...
CKS: Yishun
Ervine, whats ur PPjoy settings like?
Im using serial protocol "FMS PIC 19200 baud (0xFF sync)"
Here r my settings for FMS with (AIL and ELE set to Rev on the TX)
rudder 4
elevator 2 INV
aileron 1 INV
throttle 3 INV
tail 4
nick 2 INV
roll 1 INV
pitch 3 INV
I do have a huges300 too
EXCELLENT!!! IT WORKS!!! GREAT!!
Just the taking off part is a bit fake, it goes up super smooth... whereas my bird goes up really unstable, just taking off is like fighting a tug of war with it...

far far.. i stay serangoon central area...
Mellow: Will give it a miss first, maybe getting lipos after i'm more stable...

Hey Ervine,
Just in case you want a fast charger(15 mins) for 8.4v batts. I am selling mine for $70. Bought at $80 a month ago. No use for it now that my hughes is dead.
that charges what kind of batteries bro?
CKS: I used FMS + PPjoy, but when I do the mapping/calibration the blue bars don't react as they should, sometimes reacting, sometime's dont...
-
yeaps already read... now trying to fly with the FMS simulator but i can't get it to calibrate... grumble...
And it's a real pain to wait for the batteries to charge!!

darn this is hard!! can hardly get it off the ground!!
-
didn't someone use to cut a 1litre plastic bottle, invert it to form a dome then used it to cover the sun coral, the top opening used to inject the food...
like this the current won't blow away the food too quickly...
-
i just joined the dark side as well... got a 2nd hand Dynam Hughes 300...
-
2 inches is nothing... i have one that's 2 feet long... no harm leaving yours in the tank, in fact it's advisable, just don't handle it with your bare hands...
-
ever wondered how to merge the two hobbies??
REMOTE CONTROLLED SUBMARINE!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
haha.. it'll be more than $200
$200 for initial kit
$50-100 for replacement parts
can get pretty gd skimmer
that's just the honey bee kit haha... if like u go for trex that's easily 1k?
-
been looking at the honeybee FP2, it's the only affordable one for me at the moment other than the $20 carrefour crash dummy...
but must think carefully.. 200+ bucks can upgrade skimmer
-
are u able to control the tail of that heli?
eg- can command it to spin clockwise or anti?
for 20 bucks no way... it just goes off but itself... haha...
Highest I've reached so far before smashing into furniture is 1m...
-
ok got it changed for a working one... but quite silly the heli can only hover 5" off the ground and it keeps turning in circles like a mad hamster....
aiyah cannot expect too much for $20 bucks I suppose... can fly already not bad...
-
to quell my itchy fingers I went to buy the R/C heli from carrefour only to find out it's spoilt... sigh..
I think it's a sign to stay away from this hobby...
-
wow!! Looks interesting!

Saw this interesting thread. Im also a newbie to RC flying..Just bought a small battery powered helicopter 1 month ago. Still mastering to fly though. Sent to the shop very repair almost every week from crashes. Haha. expensive hobby but just as addicitve.
Hey Ervine, I was adviced by a shop owner that the honey bee is more unstable. Not too sure. Almost bought that though cause it looks good. Ended up with a Hughes 300
Ooo how much u spent on the Hughes basic kit and where u get it from? and why that over the honey bee?
http://www.skyhobbies.com.sg/Dynam_heli.htm
There's another one called the phoenix FP too... same price some more but not sure what does "ARF version" mean..
-
i saw someone play with a honey bee today... looks fun!! just wondering, between the basic honey bee kit and the lama V3, which would u guys choose?
-
wah... i donno leh, don usually kill anything except for roaches... i think i will just throw it into my refugium and monitor it there...

Hi guys,
My friends are getting married and they tasked me to find a videographer for them (I'm doing the photography). They are on a tight budget.
Video is for a church ceremony on 20th May, will require post production to edit it as well.
Please e-mail me if you can do it and let me know the charges.

Thanks!

just another newbie question but what does the gain and the other control on the gyro do?
