  2. Can teach us some propogation technic?

    Ricordea Propagation

    1) Get a good healthy specimen (preferably 50 cents size)

    2) Mercilessly CUT them into four equal pieces.

    3) I have a tank specially for propagation of ricordeas only.

    - no fish but algae cleaning crew only.

    - with mild current

(adjusted with the right flow = freshly cut ricordea stay on the small LR

    provided)

    4) Other Attachment techniques can also refer to Woonming or Deepblue.

    5) My freshly cut ricordeas will attached itself to LR about 3 days.

    6) Cut edges will start to recover by growing back its outer edge polyps first.

    - (provided given the right water parameters and lights )

    7) Later new mouth evloved.

    8) My lighting is using 2x 11W PL 10,000K White/Blue

    9) This neon green ricordea florida below was propagated 3 1/2 weeks back.

( outer edge polyps fully recover, now the inner portion.) See pic .

    10) Size now is about 3/4 size of a twenty cents coin.

Hopefully these info can be of some help to you.

    cheers :)

  3. i cut them up ...

Attaching could be done with different methods..

Mine would be using a net to cover the mrooms over a LR and tying it up wit rubber band..

    DeepBlue Method

Use those PVC piping and place a LR with the mroom insdie ..

Other ways are just place ur mroom on the LR in an area without current ..

u could also PM another reefer ricodea if i am not wrong he did post a thread of fragging of ricodea .. somewhere before ...

    Hope this helps.

Since my name is being mentioned....

  4. yuma closing....transparent slime appearing.....

dun know what happened.....the water seems fine...after checking...nitrate won't do that to it....too much lights?(placed in mid level of 4 FT tank)....

stressed by cleaner shrimp hanging ard it?

still investigating.... anyone got this problem before?

If your Yuma is trying to reproduce by performing pedal laceration method,

I think it has done quite a messy job.

Anyway, it should not be a big problem as.....

I cut my Ricordea florida into 4 equal quadrant for propagation purposes (not animal abuse), all of them now growing bigger and stronger daily.

I attached pic on a very rare Super-Colored Ricordea yuma reproducing in a tank by Pedal Laceration.

    cheers. :)

SAVE A REEF, GROW YOUR OWN. - my favourite motto. :D

Anyway, I think I am too slow for your goodies Yuma.

Spare a sky blue yuma frag after your next propagation for me,

we can do some exchanging...... ;)

  7. Same here, my propagation was a success too.

I try on the neon green florida. Cut into quadrant 1/4.

Form a complete round shape already and now foming the outer edge polyps/bubbles.

Manage to see a faint evolvement of the mouth.

Already attached to the small live rock I provided.

Too bad , my cam can't do close Macro shots to show pics here.

The above process took place 2 1/2 weeks ago.

    So far so good. B)
