  1. Hi Chinmo,

how are you! :D U might want to add another feeding station. If not, add parition to cut dwn the space in yr tank & train the Redi real hard to only feed from the dish. After going through BDF training, remove the parition.

ermmm...how many redi you got now??? 8? 12? U still want the OF box??

    Hi acedoplin,

    Cheers!

  2. Hi kopee,

who is the one that serve yr friend when he is there. The Burmese assistants?? If so, how can you blame them. They come here to earn a living & I believe they only know packing.

If yr friend dunno how to diff a tang or an angel, I dun think u should expect those burmese to know. I think they even have difficulty speaking english.

I dun think you expect the burmese worker to tell yr friend," This is a Zebrasoma Flavescens, Yellow Tang & this is Centropyge Falvissimus, Lemon-peel Angel." If they can do that, they won't be working there liao. If they can diff Tang & angel very good liao.

    Besides, whats the farm name????

    my 2cents.

  3. Hi patrick123,

I would strongly recommend u to go for the 15mm glass for the 3ft width. The amt of pressure is very high.

All tanks I made have all round, top & bottom thick euro-bracing & dow corning silicon. The bottom will be secure, but not yr middle to top of yr tank. I, myself wouldn't even dare to go for 12mm. Wat u will get is glass warp ard the center or worst, tank start to open up. U can go for at least 5"-6" width 12mm-15mm euro-bracing & center bracing. However, yr glass will still warp abit.

Unless yr tankmaker can assure u & write in black & white that he can assure u the tank will not warp or open up, go for it. At least u are covered. If not, this is a 2-3K risk u gonna take.

    Cheers!

  4. When a Tang display very solid colour, it means its on good mood or nothing is disturbing it.

When it display a washout colour with marking, it means its either bad mood or stress.

Solid colour with markings is to signal the cleaner shrimps/ wrasses to clean itself.

  5. For fish, u can consider low to moderate flow. Seahorse are not strong swimmer, even the low flow for fishes is considered strong to them.

Picky seahorses will have problem getting frozen food if they flow ard. They prefer to wait for it to sink to the bottom, observe then eat.

  6. Hi evanscence,

SH & lionfish can live together as lion will not eat the SH. However, it is still not advisable to keep them together.

Both require diff types of enviroment.

SH need low flow, lionfish will like stronger current.

SH are slow eater. If u get a juv. lionfish, most likely, it will snap up all the food before the seahorse can eat. They are capable in swallowing 1 whole cube of mysis.

Lionfish need a bigger tank for it to swim instead of SH which do better in smaller but taller tanks.

    Cheers!

  7. Seahorse isn't ban. Its just under CITES. The program is drafted by Project Seahorse. However, indonesia will not be in this program from what I heard.

I am not sure abt other imports from the southern pacific or brazil. If they are unable to issue CITES on their side, then we can forget abt getting them.

Only place I can think of is Australia. US aquaculture farm do not ship abroad. Main reason cos they cannot even handle the demand from their local market.

  8. Hi sugi,

getting a ph controller is not a must. Many CR user not using them.

If u looking for korallin clone, can look for alvy. Infact, he just custom made 2 units of CR, bigger than korallin 4002 for 2 reefers. Maybe they will post the pic soon. Very precision workmanship.

    Cheers!

  9. Hi Terryz,

Pygmy seahorse/ h. bargibanti is near impossible to get even in other countries like US.

They live deep beneath the sea, more than 13m. Normally found on gorgonians. They are temperate seahorses. Maintaining a temp no more than 22max.

There is very little info on the husbandry of the pygmy seahorses, but I assume they will feed like their close cousin, dwarf seahorse/ h. zosterae.

Recently, pple have discovered a new species of pygmy, h.denise. It is found at the indo pac. We might be able to get them since its found ard our region. but still, chances are very very slim.

    Cheers!

    Wei :)
