How to lower Alkalinity?

Hi guys..im kinda new to marine keeping..

The problem is that I accidently dose the alkalinity additive too much and it shot up soo high that even measuring it with salifert tester is not enough with the 1ml syringe..

Water change daily will bring down the alk...

But how high is ur ALK

it may just go down naturally

How high is your KH ? Check you ca as well as it might have drop alot also when the KH rises. Rise up the Ca will balance and cause the KH to drop if it is not too far away for the idea parameter.

My KH is over 15.7 kdh according to salifert tester

My Ca is 455 ppm - salifert tester

Any harm to the reef with high alk?

And by the way mine is a 10g tank so tats y the parameters changes suppperr fast..

Try doing a 50% water change should rectify it..

overdosing, water change etc will make test result inaccurate

try measuring your water parameter again tomorrow

Just to share..

I realised tat when ever i raised my Ca, my Alk will raise too..thus making my overall Alk a BOOM!

Ive been adding my Ca and monitoring it since bout 1 wk already.. And im using "Red Sea Reef Foundation ABC+"

So I guess in the mixture already have all the chemistry needed to raise Ca, Alk and Mg in balance..

And I just gt bck frm Coral Farm which I just got to knw.. A superb plc i would say..

seriously i wont go for ABC+... Calcium, Magnesium, Alkaline may deplete at different rate.. I will rather Buy Red Sea A,B and C rathe than ABC+.. so that i can test individual readings and add accordingly. 2cent of advice

Any idea if B-Ionic addictives are good? For Ca and Alk? Any recomendations?
