Any bros using pinpoint salinity monitor? I am currently using 9v battery instead of the power adapter. Battery used up after 2 days use, is that normal? I like battery use so I can use it portable for two of my tank and in toilet when mixing salt water :)

erm I am using Sanyo brand 9v battery. Maybe should change to a better one. I turn it on 24/7 maybe that's why it is so fast?

Ya, try better brand may help.. and 24/7 not only drain battery power.. It may affect your measurement as well.. I feel below performance much better than pinpoint in term of internal rechargeable battery and measurement in ppt rather than conversion required.. But I feel pinpoint type of test kits not for fussy user as calibration required not convenient as Refractometer/hydrometer.

Cheers and Happy Reefing..

Did you get this from fish-street.com?

Just want to add the reading speed of the pinpoint salinity monitor is a little slow, I was using it when I mix my water and didn't know it has over shot my required salinity untill 1 min later. Argh

Hi, you should not turn it on 24 hours.

Only turn it on when you want the reading.

Else it will use up the battery in about 2 days or less.

I think it is written in the manual.

Cheers!

(-_-) Happy will do ... (o_o)

oh ok thanks, I didn't have the manual as this was 2nd hand. I'm going to turn on only when I need to use now...
