Royston Posted October 8, 2013 Share Posted October 8, 2013 There is a few reasons no.1 stress by your tank's conditions no.2 is to adjust to food source & the last will be the age factor. If it grows back in 2wks-1mth time then you don't have to worry provided it will not lose its crown again just after growing a new one(else it is reason no.1) it is natural to lose it's crown. blusafe Posted October 13, 2013 Share Posted October 13, 2013 The worm is not happy. Do the usual tests. Also, I stumbled upon this somewhere once but forgot where it came from. As worms age, they require larger food and grow larger crowns. Most home aquariums cannot supply large plankton foods so they shed their crowns and grow a new one.
