Dear FuEl bro,

I thought they are suppose to be schooling species? Never thought that they will be aggressive, care to share more?

Thanks in advance.

Hmm..In the wild they have territories that are bigger than those that are available in most tanks. They are only schooling in the aquarium because they are confined. In the wild firefish are found in burrows. It makes perfect sense that their burrows be widely spaced apart. When they appear to be shoaling it's only for a short time and that's when they are feeding.

It also depends on the fish. If they can tolerate one another then it's your luck... I've tried 3 myself..ended up with 1. It murdered the rest in a 4 feet long tank. There was a helfrich in a certain lfs..got murdered by the other helfrichs. They might seem docile..but you will never know when their tolerance towards each other bursts.

Always something more important than fish.
