Hey guys, wats the smell of DT???

I have used it for quite a while...n didnt really take notice of the smell. Recently, i bought a new bottle, and to my dismay, when i opened it, it stinks lyk hell... any suggestions?

But it is really stinks then it may spoiled already

I assume your DT is still not expired yet!

DT needs to keep cool during shipment and storage. So I will only buy DT from LFS that I trusted.

FYI, Henry from ML will shake all bottles of DT in his fridge daily since

Phytoplankton settles out of suspension and will die if left packed down on the bottom. So you know where I buy my DT from.

I suggest you go back to your LFS.

was told by Henry the new blend smells a little.

yu have to squeeze out the bottled air prior sniffing

to have a better gauge of freshness. they are only

willing to change if smells like rotten eggs.

met a veteren who always buy expired DTs with discounts.

they are just as good after the printed date! hmmm.

DT will lose all its nutrition value in 6-8 days

of room temperature. go read reefcentral.

i bought a DT plankton 2 days back, and reach home saw it has expired!!!! Wah lau, sell me expired one. the date was 6/1/04. Can i still feed it to my corals? or shld i go for a change? Pls rem to check the date ppl if u buyin DT plankton!

If there is a sweet rotting smell like oranges. The bottle's gone. That's the smell of marine plankton gone bad.

Hi, 6/1/04 means 1st of June 2004, bought a bottle few months back, was shocked also, until i called edmund from eaqua to confirm, so it is still ok to use it... though mine starting to smell abit oredi..

Be a wise consumer. don't just buy blindly.

if the date is too close for your comfort, ask the LFS

the ETA of new stock and count your figures from there.

I believe most people know what they are getting into.

from the instructions on the DT bottle, u gotta give the bottle a shake every now and then. guess this is to keep the planktons suspended to prevent it from dying off prematurely. juz me 2 cents.

mine smells terrible..

i guess its spoiled. corals not really opening well after i feed this spoiled food. lucky i got subsitute... hmms..

any reputatable DT sellers/LFS to recommand?
