Black background for bottom glass?

Hi reefers

does it look better if you have a black bottom glass or clear glass if you do not intend to put sand?  By this I mean having a black paper stuck below the bottom glass panel. Thks

Pros and cons for both...

In my opinion, if you're having sps, good to have white as it reflects some light onto the bottom side of the coral... However, once it gets dirty, it becomes as good as black...

You can request for black oyama at the bottom of the tank from the tank maker...

And if you want white, don't even need oyama cos bottom of the tank usually has a piece of white styrofoam...

Bro I already have urchin and it's been with me for more than 2 years so I am likely to keep it. Sentimental value..  U are right about having no purple algae though, even on rocks that the urchin can reach.
