LR placing advice needed at base

Hi Reefer,

Advice needed on placing base Live rock.

Qn1

Shall I place the big piece at the tank before adding the level of sand

Is this a better way to have a more stable founation. Cause it future might have some LS which like sand digging.

planing to laying 20KG of Grade 0 sand and 10KG of Grade 1 at the upper level.

Qn2

Can Live Rock place lean against the back glass of the tank. My biggest piece of live rock weighs 10 KG .

Most people put them away from the tank walls for better circulation. I would try to minimise the area covered by the liverock on the sand as much as possible to prevent stagnant areas from forming in the long run...

Thanks for the advice. Will take into consideration when setting up the new 3FT tank.

Getting pretty excited on starting the FOWLR in a weeks time.

now cyclying 1 big piece of 10KG LR in a sepearte container for 1 week first before transfer them to the new empty tank next week.
