Clownfish hosting

Personally, I don’t think corals such as Torch and Duncans are good to be used as Host for Clownfishes. Reason is that the rough actions of the fish (ie. nudging against the coral, strong tail swinging when in the coral) could cause the coral’s soft tissue to be injured by the coral’s own sharp “bones”, finally resulting in death.

But if you still want to have them as host, there are several ways that may work, for example:

- Remove the fish to QT tank for a few days. Then reintroduce it to DT directly over/into the coral. Better still if you are able to surround the coral with something such that the clown is restricted to only swim near the coral for sometime.

- Use a stick to herd the fish to the coral. Keep it swimming around there for as long as you can. The purpose is to make the fish feel insecure, get it used to be near the coral and make it feel that place is a good refuge from the stick. The stick itself should never go near the coral.

Good Luck.
