Sera Calcium Plus

Hi!

I've just graduated from FOWLR to Reef tank thanks to MH lights :D and OK water conditions. At this stage, I only intend to keep fully photosynthetic corals (softies and a few LPS). So I don't expect my CA+ demand to be too high.

I tested my Ca+ levels for the first time and it read 360mg/L. I would like to increase it to 400mg/L using SERA Calcium plus. Anyone been using this stuff? Does it really not affect other parameters such as DKH and PH as it claims?

thanks for the feedback!

Thanks Bum!

Sera Calcium plus is actually a Calcium additive, not a test kit.

As test kit I'm using nutrafin Ca Test from Hagen.

Sera claims that their Ca additive does not affect other parameters such as DKH and PH is that true based on experience??

Hi, I got low calcium level as well for a long time.. bought the Tropic Marine Bio-Calcium and its quite impressive. It will not alter and pH or dKh and there is no requirement to drip or mix with water.. just scatter into high flow area in your sump...

No personal experience on Sera Calcium plus though... didnt get very good feedback from their products though..

I just did a review.. u can view it here at the webpage....

oops.. :paiseh:

i've used many kinds before,

but never sera

i find tropic marine is pretty good,

just add directly ....only con....$$$$

but whichever brand you use,

its still best to add slowly, cause it will still

affect the PH and KH because of the ionic balance of sea/salt water.

and as far as i know, a overdose of calcium can only be resolved by

water changes
