have been changing water again and again plus the use of AZ NO3 for about 2 weeks but nitrate levels still remaining at 50. how come liddat???

using salifert test kits so cant be wrong reading right? help appreciated

AZNO3 did not have any negative effect on your corals? Mine did leh.....

Do u have a DSB ? or refugium ? maybe there is some place that is building up nitrates. tap water ?

hmmm.. not too sure lehz.. my hammer and some branches of torch up lorry.. rest doing fine..

no DSB and refuge for me... hmmm, maybe my coral chips compartment?? possible?

Use of AZ-NO3 would be more effective if u have a powerful skimmer.... if the skimmer is too weak, the effectiveness would be greatly reduced... Also, I tink better remove your GAC...

My experience on hammer corals is that they require lower CONSTANT temperature to thrive, say about 25-27.

Bro wa lanz,had this problem once and found out something dying inside the tank.Nitrates is the end product of any filter system.Normally the level would remain quite constant after a while even with water changes.Only new addition lof LS or dying LS will produce more nitrates.Also check for NH3 coz maybe you have exceeded your tank cpacity or really confirm something is dying in the tank.
