SRC Member releeps Posted December 23, 2004 SRC Member Share Posted December 23, 2004 Hi, was thinking of DIYing one, but need some advices. Isit possible to make a small hole in my sump return pipe and connect it to the input of the denitrator instead of using another pump for the input. Will the pressure be enough? Cos I dont want to add another pump to my collection in the sump .
chuahs
did u add bioballs in the centreof the denitrator? it is suppose to be for the anaerobic bacteria to grow.....
SRC Member butteye Posted December 24, 2004 SRC Member Share Posted December 24, 2004 Bro, what's ur pumping input flow? and pump u use? won't it caused overflow when output is a drop per second??

Put a valve before the output.

Welllllll.... If I'm not wrong, the bateria needs lots of surface to breed on. Hence I have some bio-bola in the center. Not sure if it's enough. SRC Member zarkon Posted December 25, 2004 Author SRC Member Share Posted December 25, 2004 Bro, what's ur pumping input flow? and pump u use? won't it caused overflow when output is a drop per second?? Now this is a tough one... Have a look at this link .. http://www.sgreefclub.com/forum/index.php?...opic=26583&st=0 I believe if you seal-tight there is no way for over flow. But the pain is on the pump. I'm using a super cheap pump... can't even find the flow rate. Anyway, you'll need a considerable pressure to push thru' such a small - lobang. not to mention the distance! If I had a better pump, I'll used it and let you know what's the flow rate need. For now... God knows.
SRC Member zarkon Posted January 6, 2005 Author SRC Member Share Posted January 6, 2005 Just when I thought things are moving in the right direction... The pump when buzzing... that cheapo pump when buzzing.. I had to stop the experiment....Don't want to burn down the house. Final reading is the same as previous one. Oh yes, found out the pump rate to be about 200-300l/h I doubt that is what I'm getting... most likely 50-100l/h. Yo bro releeps... the juice that's going into the muruku container nee to be 'mechanically filtered' in-case you get blockage. Good luck to your experimento.
