My First DIY Plastic container Coil Denitrator

Had been wanting to try my hand on a coil denitrator....

Got a 2ft tank to test on.. why not

Cost

- One used Hari Raya muruku-plastic-container

(TV + me = empty muruku-plastic-container)

Cost - Free

- 20 meters Air tube. Cost <$5

- Hard plastic tube .

(Kids + McDonald = Free ballon .) Cost - Free

(Buy from Rainbow) Cost - 50cts

- Cheapo Pump - Cost <$12.

Total Cost < $20

think u might wanna use black paper to cover the side of the CD..... if expose to lighht, might grow algae and jam the pipes...

Hi, was thinking of DIYing one, but need some advices.

Isit possible to make a small hole in my sump return pipe and connect it to the input of the denitrator instead of using another pump for the input. Will the pressure be enough? Cos I dont want to add another pump to my collection in the sump .

it is suppose to be for the anaerobic bacteria to grow.....

I don't see why not. Unless the pressure is not strong enought.

The control is more on the output side. Put a valve before the output.

Welllllll.... If I'm not wrong, the bateria needs lots of surface to breed on.

Hence I have some bio-bola in the center. Not sure if it's enough.

Now this is a tough one...

I believe if you seal-tight there is no way for over flow. But the pain is on the pump.

I'm using a super cheap pump... can't even find the flow rate.

Anyway, you'll need a considerable pressure to push thru' such a small - lobang. not to mention the distance! If I had a better pump, I'll used it and let you know what's the flow rate need.

Just when I thought things are moving in the right direction...

The pump when buzzing... that cheapo pump when buzzing..

I had to stop the experiment....Don't want to burn down the house.

Final reading is the same as previous one.

Oh yes, found out the pump rate to be about 200-300l/h

I doubt that is what I'm getting... most likely 50-100l/h.

Yo bro releeps... the juice that's going into the muruku container nee to be 'mechanically filtered' in-case you get blockage. Good luck to your experimento.
