Qns on coral

Hi guys, how do u guys find out which corals have sting or not? Base on hard or soft corals? or something else? And if they have sting how do u guys normally place them in a small setup with limited space....

Lastly, how do u guys place the corals firmly on a place with it moving or topping?

for placing coral depends on type of coral you gets and the lighting u have.

to prevent coral from topping depends how to interplace them, some using silicon to stick them onto a bigger LR, etc...

Pai seh then how u actually silicon them together? take the corals out of the water and silicon? if the surface is wet still can silicon? any bottom part of the corals will do?

try deltec epoxy putty where u can stick them together even under wet condition. But not all corals can stick.

The best way is to stick the rock where the corals is attached to the liverock where u want them. Make sure that is the best position for the corals to thrive b4 u stick them together. Try searching old thread esp by weileong. He had visual guide on doing these.

do not use silicon.

Just curious for those who have used this product, just want to know:

Is the bonding very strong? Well, you see, what happen if the piece of coral glued start rotting for some other reasons in the future? Is it still possible to remove it before it starts contaminating the water?

I used tunze epoxy for my blue fan, and I made the mistake of sticking on a 'foundation' LR. So now all its left is a stick with red coraline algea.

I think best to do minor sticking operations and try not to stick onto anything that u can take out.

is it possible to tie them like plants onto driftwood???

just tying the bottom of the coral with fish line and on to the LR...

tat's interesting, coz I juz use cable tie for a xenia tat got detached from it's colony. tie it up loosely to a rock with another xenia together, so far so good, still opens up to feed.
