Cannister

Is it possible for me to put in Bio-Ring(bottom layer),Di-Nitrate(first layer),Phosguard(third layer) and Bio Sponge(last layer) for my cannister filtration.

Need advised from experts here.....

I started my 2 FTtank with a cannister for 6 months...if you intend tp keep LS and corals...I dun think it can sustain..my tank was failing after 6 mths...corals were slowly dying(of course could be due to many other reasons)...in the end...had to close the tank, re-set and make it into a Q-tank now.

longevity? go for sump or refugium(hot nowadays)

but me not at setting up any sump or refugium.

but do weekly change 10-15 percent of water and monthly clean up the cannister or replace any used up bio sponge.

many difft views....

when I was using my cannister...diff pple told me diff thing..newbie mah...

1) dun touch the medium...dun disturb the good bacterias inside

2) change the bio ring every 6 mths....

3) wash only the filter sponge on the top layer.....

also dun know who to believe...so I kept for 6 mths...time t change bio rings...changed to 4FT tank with sump instead.....

may wan to consider a refugium...look at danano's nano tank.....really nice setup

i dun think the order matters much...

canister is alrite if u do ur water change often and change ur media often too... lolz

dun think u shld change all the media together...

one at a time... like 1 week change 1 media...

dun have to follow me. There would be better ones out there. But, so far, I have been doin that, and everything seems well...

so....junyong84...whats the filter media u put in on your cannister?must be running on ur 3ft tank right?

cannot share everythin..lolz

i put poly filter, filter wool... chemi pure... etc...
