A shot of the ballast ... notice that there are 2 pieces of white acryllic that covers both ends of the ballast to protect it from salt spray. A very useful item cos saved me from doing up the housing :lol:

The completed t5s on top of my tank .. unfortuately the bolts that the hardware store nearby onli have 10cm long bolts ...... thus the extra 2 cm are all showing.

:off: With the ikea cover panel sawed into 2, will be putting hinge later on when i find an appropriate latch so that i can access the tank easily.

Tempting to put MH by cutting a hole in the centre .... hmmmm ... :P

The diy t5s at work after a day's of work .... onli took 2 days in all, one for buying all the stuff, had great food at ikea .... then the sawing and drilling of holes on the next day.

Total cost for this 4 t5 setup w/o tubes is <$200 :D:D:D
