Hi, can we change the sump after 1 yr's tank? thinking change to a bigger sump.

if you have a refugium with DSB then you ought to be concern if disturbing them may cause nitrate spike. Other than that the usual seeding with old filter floss applies.

DSB = deep sea bed.. do read up on the acroymns found in the newbies guide.. =)

thanks. I dun have DSB but have coral chip with macro algal srowing on it already..

you have corals or is it fish only???? i think you might get away with it if you are only using your sump primiary for mechanical/chemical filteration and skimming....the bulk of the bio-filteration should be now from your liferocks already....in that case you might want to clean the coral chip throughly to prevent spikes....don't think you need to seed unless you are changing everything inside your tank......
