Live Stocks in fish shops got white spots ?

Hi bros, I went to a fish shop recently I saw that all the fishes got

powdery white spots on the gill and fins. Is it normal for fish shop to

sell fishes with diseases ? just curious ?

NEVER EVER EVER buy a fish with white spots (ich)....

Poor water quality do not cause ich but make the fish more vulnerable to them... sad to say, a lot of LFS (only a few reputable ones) have good quality water parameters... some even won't sell you the fish if it just arrived....

From the shop's perspective, they are running a business.... so they hope that the turnover for fishes (sell out and restock fast) is high... for better profits...

Believe me, I have seen several LFS cooking up some stories just to make you buy a fish that has fin rot or ich from them.....

If you buy fish, my advice is spend a Loooooonnnnngggggg time to observe and select your fish carefully.... sometimes the shop staff may try to sell you some "special" just to clear their stock... just have to be more careful and selective.... I can spent one hour or so observing one fish at the LFS until the owner gets irritable....

If you can, get the LFS owner to feed the fish too...
