Hi bros,

Wonder if any previous or existing AquaC EV users can help me..

My EV120 is very erratic!! :pinch: I can't handle it. One moment it is producing too little bubbles and I have to open the air valve all the way, even so the bubble level is only about half way up the main cylinder. Another moment it can be overflowing like mad! Spewing foam and water into the collection cup. And I have to close the air valve. My water gate is fully opened. May I know from experienced users why is this so? :(

I am running it with eheim1260. I only have a couple of tube worms, a black urchin and a clownfish in my 2ft tank. No dosing of other additives.

Really appreciate any help or advice i can get. :thanks::thanks: Oh if possible can I see a picture of your collection cup and skimmate too? If any pne has it on hand :thanks: I can't get dry skimmate! :cry2:

Thanks again guys :nc:

I found that some additives react to this skimmer. For instance those anti-chlorine additivies with slime protection made my skimmer go wild. You can also unscrew the spray injector to see anything choke there.

Check your pump whether there's anything wrong cos the pump flowrate is important to drive the injector.

Sometime when i do maintenance and switch on and off the pump the bubble count seems drop so i just did a couple of switching on and off then its back to normal again. Probably some airlock as i don't have any check valve. After getting back the bubbles make sure you set the level to the correct one(should be below the transparent reaction chamber or else you risk overflow)

Last thing i encounter is that if the outlet pipe is into the water the foam level drop. I guess is because of backpressure. So if you place it in sump the water level is important.

That's all i can think of.

Hey thanks lots bro :) Will keep these in mind. My skimmer is out of sump but the pipe from the outlet gate goes into the sump tank..hmm wonder if it will have problems. The pump has been running ever since i switched it on, should be rather stable. Well I guess i really have to check the injector now.. Anyone else has things to add? :)

It will be better if you can post a picture of your current setup.

Did you set your valve correctly as per instruction manual ? Just follow carfully on the manual and what you need is just some fine tuning to get consistent result. Base on my experience, the water level just above the inner platform is very important after some trial and error (with air valve fully open).

For me, i find it more difficult to get wet then dry skimmate. Hope other aquaC user can share their opinion as well.
