Tank with IOS

Anyone can tell me whats the disadvantages and advantages of using a tank with internal overflow system, apart from that it actually takes up spaces. Does it have the almost the same effect as a sump tank?

So am i right to say that from poor to best filtration is...

internal filter ----> external cannister -----> I.O.S----> sump tank

Hi, my own experience.

Get a sump if you can. I am also using a IOS but now always have problem where to house more equipment, eg. skimmer, calcium reactor, etc...

if you want to use IOS, do have a proper planning

I used to have problem with the evaporation. Because the IOS compartment is small, the water level can fall very fast with little evaporation.

However, the good thing is that the water level in the main compartment is pretty consistent.
