Aquamedic denitrator

The principle behind the denitrator is to deprive any O2 inside the unit so that the anaerobic bacteria can convert the NO3 to Nitrogen which in turn got disperse into the air.

By having the denitrator output dripping more than a drop per min is critical and anything less will generate hydrogen sulphide to the tank resulting in loss of livestocks and drop in pH.

Too fast then the O2 is still in the unit resulting in no possiblity of the anaerobic bacteria to colonize and convert NO3./

IMHO, a dosing pump is a pre-requisite for this fella whereas a sulphur based doesn't have this requirement. But then sulphur based will have another set of rules to abide too.

It is never ending. :)

Hi,

I hav a NR400, & SP1000 the flow rate shld be 300l/hr, = 1 drop / sec. (not min.)

Thanks

That's correct 1 drop per second for the denitrator output and ensure that there are about 20 pcs of deniballs inside the unit to last more than 1.5 year before the next deniball replenishment. :P
