SRC Member hondaker Posted April 16, 2006 SRC Member Share Posted April 16, 2006 i using a similar china brand canister, jebo, so far so good, only thing is that maintenence a bit tough if you can, eheim would be a good choice for canisters, because the water flow is from bottom up, rather than the other brand's top to bottom

SRC Member Qxnviolet Posted April 17, 2006 SRC Member Share Posted April 17, 2006 How high can the most powerful Jebao cannister's flowrate go? I agree if you can afford Ehiem, then go for it. I have no idea whether your chiller will work with a less than recommanded flowrate. Have you tried that out? SRC Member moxa Posted April 17, 2006 SRC Member Share Posted April 17, 2006 Hi , To save cost look around in the forum. I do remember some reefer sells their Ehiem cansiter. Look for those who are first owner if possible. For flowrate check what is the spec you need and I am sure you can find them in the Ehiem website which model suit you. You can even use a valve control to reduce the flow rate if you find your model is to high flow rate. Call Ehiem Singapore service centre if you need help on the model. cheers Moxa

SRC Member Qxnviolet Posted April 17, 2006 SRC Member Share Posted April 17, 2006 Wah, those super huge cannisters? Do they cost alot? Might be more economic to get a smaller chiller instead. SRC Member Qxnviolet Posted April 17, 2006 SRC Member Share Posted April 17, 2006 If you are planning to get a sump. Just get a pump to draw water out from your sump into your chiller and back into your tank. Don't use a cannister. It'll be much easier.
