Just want to know how many of you actually see the leg of starfishes regenerate.

Coz I usually dun dispose of legs plucked out by my Harlequin Shrimps. I just leave them in there to crawl. Yesterday I just realised 2 of the legs are starting to regenerate.. :P

Whats funny is its just the leg and not with part of the body.. the otehr was even worst.. further plucked into half and also regenerating. Both I saw 5 more puny legs coming out from one end. .. bout 2-3mm each..

BTW the 2 legs has been living in my tank for more that a month... maybe almost 2 months already..

I mean I know starfishes regenerates but I didn't know they can do that with just a leg or even half a leg.. :D . what do they really eat during that 2 months? Filter feed? i tot they eat with the centre portion?

Why do we use "My 2 cents worth" when 1 cents are not legal tender in Singapore anymore? Shouldn't it be 5 cents worth?

Read in some children science book that some species of star fish can generate new starfish from their legs, which mean if you break all 5 legs, you'll have 5 plus the original starfish...not bad deal huh...

I know they regenerate. Books also just say regenerate but they never state to what extend.

I've seen my sandsifters grow back the legs they lose thats it.. Now is 2 legs grow back the main body and 5 more legs :P. Yeah 6 legged orange linkias..

Maybe those who has sumps can buy orange linkias and "propergate" them..

BTW has anyone have any idea how starfishes mate? :erm:
