AquaPharm BlackGold and Sorb-4

1)can i put BlackGold in Skimz FR?

noticed BlackGold unlike Sorb-4, whereby not all BlaockGold granule will sink, some will float at the water surface, in this situation, it may flow back to tank if i am using Skimz FR, does anyone is using Skimz FR for BackGold ?

2)can i put both Sorb-4 and BlackGold in a same FR?

Hi there

Firstly, wash or soak the Blackgold using DI water (or freshwater) for an hour or so. This will stop them from floating.

It is still recommended to store them in separate chambers as they behave quite differently under the same flow.

If the FR is properly designed, you shouldn't have problem keeping both Sorb-4 and Blackgold within the FR. Flow plays a part too.

to be honest, the main reason of putting BlackGold into FR is AFTER SEEING jervismun's TWIN TURBO Skimz FR in this forum.........i must say, jervismun, yr entire setup is wonderful, owesome tank with powerful equipment and additive, encrusted rock......
