The chiller will be located in the balcony. the copper coolant tube will run from the balcony, behind the side cabinet into the tank cabinet along with the drainage water pipe. the drainage pipe was run to ease water changes as there's a drainage point in the balcony. hopefully this will encourage me to do more frequent water changes. keke... ;)

I have similar design too... draining water is easy... preparing salt water is the real challenge

Normally I stop the return pump, drain the water from the sump, fill the sump with fresh water and pour salt directly into the sump. using a couple of powerhead to circulate the salt and water for a couple of hours. Seems like the easiest way.

Anyone got easier way to share? hee... or lazier way I mean! :P

got ! haha u have some empty space at the bottom. make another seperate glass tank. mix your water and salt in there. then juz use a pump to pump the water over. mixing the water in the sump isnt really a good idea IMO. if u are using micro algae and live sand in your sump then problems may arise

The space is actually meant for equipment. 2 return pumps will be placed externally. The large area behind the sump tank is provisioned for skimmer and skimmer both to be place externally as well. The chiller cooling drum will also be place under the tank near the return pump.
