algae on starpolyp

Recommended Posts

any way of removing the algaes on the star?

tried blasting it in the flow by no use

does algae blenny do the work?

Once they are growing among your star polyps its very difficult to eradicate without stressing the coral.

IMHO, its best to find the cause of your algae bloom and remove it, thereby nipping the problem at the bud.

As you would have know algae will flourish due to high nutrients and insufficient flow. Thus I will recommend the following:

1) Increase the flow

2) Reduce / control feeding

3) Upgrade skimmer

4) Use PO4 absorbing media

5) Frequent water change

Emm probably... but your Starpolyps will become extremely stress in the process... and as bro Gouldian mentioned... if you do not "nip it at its bud"... the problem will keep on arising :erm:

All the best to you bro!
