I have the same query months ago when try to setup my 3ft tank.

I assume you want to calculate whether the 13 A socket can support your tank.

Just a rough guide, you can take the total power of your equipment (in terms of Watts) divide by 230 Volts. As long as it does not exceed 13 A it should be fine.

Example:

Main Power 100 W + Skimmer 100 W + Lights 250 Watts = 450 watts

450 watts / 230 volts = 1.95 A only

This would also means that with 13 A, you can have up to 2990 Watts of equipments.

Off course try not to exceed 2000 watts to be on the safe side. If you are using chiller or magnetic MH blastas, there will be a surge on power usage when turn on.

For twin wall sockets, do we get 3120W for each socket or 3120W for both?

1 socket does not mean 13A 3000W it can support. Most house the circuit is connected in ring. FEw sockets share the load. U have to check the MCB rating and how many sockets connected to it. From the identified sockets u can calculate the load.
