Hi Guys,

I need some help here in identifying this starfish... i think it's killing my sand dollar. I'm thinking that this might be a chocolate star but from another view... dun looks like it. Any experienced reefer to help me out with this. also let me know if it's reef safe and what does it feeds on

Picture 1 & 2 is the suspect and Picture 3 is the victim.. .which seems dead after i remove the startfish from it's back.

Is there any corals u have at ur tank???That is doughboy starfish.

yup.. i have frogspawn, mushrooms, sun coral, lobo and others... but now it seems to attack my sand dollar only... another victim sand dollar found at it's FOOT again this evening.... the whole sand dollar turns green ...

Good day bro. To my understanding this starfish will whack corals too. i used to owe one but after reading sm articles abo it decided to removed it b4 killing my corals.

Yup is their food supply is run out they will attack the corals.Whr u all get these stuffs???
