Prizm skimmer

hi reefers,

Recently my prizm skimmer is skimming waters and not dark brown type of waste into the collection cup.....

the cup is always full of waters by half a day.

is there any problem with the skimmer?

Have you been dosing sugar or something like that to reduce the nitrate? If so this is normal as you will get more skimmate due to the additional bacterial. If not, try to lower the level of the water bubble by raising your skimmer.

Lower the bubbles.Tune it.Last time mine like that too find it weird.Now skim off dark wastes already.

how to lower the bubbles? what i can see is can increase or reduce waterflow only....

had tried that before....had to decrease the flow down to 40% flow left then stop seeing waters in collection cup....

will that help? meaning with 40% of waterflow able to skim waste?

Did you feed frozen food? Especially Henry's reef food before? If yes that's normal it will back to normal within 1 or 2 days.....

Hi Bro

As Prizm skimmer does not come with air control valve, you can add one in. I did to mine and you will be able to control the amount of air for the bubbles.

Yes the next morning u should see wastes in the collection cup already if u have fishes in ur tank.

i only have 2 common clown fishes.

i feed dry food only

hmmm he prizm is not known to be a good skimmer.. if u read other forums or check wetwebmedia.. they tend to give alot of problems, i suggest u swith to aquamedic bioflotor.. its a much better skimmer...

No wonder.2 clownfish cannot produce enough waste.Buy more fish to see the effects.Tangs especially.They're nasty when eating and pooping.

Yes but i think is much expensive.U should discover on how to work that skimmer.Dun jus one try then wan to buy new one.I also toy wif it till i figure it out.An ur LR and clownfishes won't be able to produce much wastes.
