Material to trap fine particles

anyone know of any material that can be used to trap fine particles of water?

i have lots of debris from the rock that flies around in tank and have hard time removing them.

i intend to use it as a fishing net swinging back and forth hoping to lessen the particles...will that help?

You can use your fishing net to catch those large particles out. If you are runing a mechnical filteration with filter floss these particles should be trap inside the floss.

You can try any of the Freshwater fish shops, ask for their finest grade of filter floss / wool.

If the particulate is very _very_ fine and this method still doesn't clear the problem, you could use a flocculant like Seachem Clarity which will

make the particles easier to filter out.

ok to what i face before is i get a coffee net if u do not know what it is go to coffee shop and see the uncle use it to filter the coffee for u that's the one can get it at any hardware shop that sell all sort of things in ur neighbourhood then dose easy-neo it'll clear ur water within 24hrs get it from ah beng

200-300 micron filter sock. Have to order from overseas.

You can try http://www.microscreen.com.sg they sell fabric of different micron sizes for silk screen applications and can be used for our needs.

the particles are pretty fine. I have sump with normal cotton wool but think it is useless..the debris trap in the rocks rises sometimes causing it to move around the water ...sianz...may try to seek the kopi net if possible hehe..thanks for all the alternative solutions...

go to Daiso purchase a trapnet ()one with a plastic over it used to trap fine particles.They r made for use inside washermachine.
