i would say 99%, cause i removed it in the tank instead of taking the rock out and remove it. Algae spores are very small and microscopic.

Hi Bro,

Phewww....all went well.Did 2 methods. 1st to manually remove the rock that was affected (I believe this is the best and safest method). 2nd, no choice as one of those is located on top of one of my biggest rock manually twisting the bubble slowly till it came loose and disconnects from the rock. Fortunately it did not burst/break

So far there is only 4 detected in my tank. Cant imagine if there are lots of it...

By the way, there are alot of methods bros have been using and showed in you tube.So for those whom need more opinions before moving forward..do take a look at the methods the other bros are using before you take the plunge.

You r fortunate coz grew on rocks. Mine on overflow compartment fencing... The place where prevent fishes from dropping in wan. Zzz... Grew there lo.

Ever considered emerald crab bro? am not sure whether any LFS selling to begin with. Most guys use them to combat these algaes. However some of them were not in luck and it eats of softies.

Most of the reefers so far had good experiences with emerald crab. But there are some with bad luck. U can google "emerald crab bubble algae" before you jump to e bandwagon.

Sea hare r commonly available @ LFS... you can try AM, ML or CF... See them carry this stock quite often.. Cheers and Happy Reefing...

green bubble algae.

IMO one of the worst algae you can get. it will spread all over and very quickly. don't burst them. i'm not sure how to remove them without spreading them, control your nutrients i guess. emerald mithrax crabs are known to eat them. maybe u can kill them by removing the rock out of your tank first

Can you elaborate why the bubble algae is not a good thing for the aquarium? Thx.

Bubble algae sad to say falls under the nuisance algae category.

1. Eye sore

2. Competes space with your other corals especially if you have zoas.

3. No known fishes or crustaceans will consume it other than the emerald crab. So not a good food source for herbivores.

4. Since its an algae its a nutrient exporter but not the ideal kind. Reefers prefer cheato as its easy to maintain.
